  • 6.5 magnitude earthquake hits New Zealand's lower North Island

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake rocked New Zealand's North Island on Tuesday afternoon.

The quake, occurred at 3.36 p.m. (03:36 GMT), was centered 30 km west of Taupo. It was at a depth of 150 km, said New Zealand Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences (GNS Science).

It was widely felt in Wellington, Palmerston North, Napier, Blenhem and Christchurch. Xinhua reporters in Wellington strongly felt the jolt which lasted about 10 seconds.

6.5 Taupo quake shakes both islands

People ran from their homes and hid under desks during yesterday's 6.5-magnitude earthquake, which was felt in both the North and South islands.

The quake struck at 3.26pm at a depth of 150 kilometres and was centred 30km west of Taupo, GeoNet said.

Re: 6.5 magnitude earthquake hits New Zealand's lower North Island

    Another one!?!

I just posted under "Signs in the Heavens" about the 4.0 in New Zealand.

In the Earthquake Watch video, Dutchsinse said starting at time 12:50

"If you live in New Zealand, watch out. You're not out of the woods yet, another 4, 5, or 6, definitely a 4 or 5.. but a 6.0 could occur right in Christ Church again, and then all the way up North and follow the line."

So he predicted the 4.0 in New Zealand and the 6.5 in ChristChurch North Island hours before these earthquakes actually occurred at the magnitudes he suggested. Amazing.
