Huge Solar Flare Erupts from Biggest Sunspot in 24 Years (Photos)

The sunspot is the largest of its kind since November 1990, and is larger than a monster sunspot that spawned a series of major solar flares over Halloween in 2003, Young wrote.

‘Extreme’ X-1 class solar storm to hit Earth
    SEPTEMBER 11, 2014 10:31AM

It’s been several years since Earth has had a solar storm of this size coming from sunspots smack in the middle of the sun, said Tom Berger, director of the Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colorado.

NASA: Asteroid Will Pass ‘Very Close’ To Earth On Sunday
    September 4, 2014 2:05 PM

It will be about 25,000 miles away at the time of its closest approach to Earth. It won’t be observable to the unaided eye, but amateur astronomers with small telescopes might be able to spot the fast-moving appearance of the asteroid.

New meteor shower could turn into a meteor storm
A never-before-seen meteor shower is set to light up the night sky May 23.

Coming to a circumpolar constellation near you: An all-new, never-before-seen, awkwardly named meteor shower that just might knock your astronomical socks off.

It's called the Camelopardalid meteor shower, and unlike annual showers such as the Perseids and Leonids that have been occurring for hundreds or thousands of years, it will occur for the first time the night of May 23 and early morning of May 24.

From an exotic solar eclipse to a comet buzzing a galaxy, a veritable cosmic buffet of celestial sights greets sky-gazers this week.

Is all of this going on to tell the Jews not to sign the "Treaty of Death" or because they are going to sign it?

Not sure if I accidently posted this twice, but here we go. For those of you that want to stay up to see the first blood moon of the tetrad I found this:

"So, we're in luck. To take advantage of it, you'll have to stay up late from Monday night into Tuesday.

People in North and South America will be able to see the entire eclipse, while sky watchers in the western Pacific can catch only the last half. The moon will be setting in most of Europe and Africa during the eclipse, so residents there probably won't see much.

For gazing geeks, NASA has set up a live web chat to answer questions about the eclipse starting at 1 a.m. Eastern Time.

The heavenly curtain rises on Tuesday's lunar review around 2 a.m. ET, when the moon starts to slide into Earth's shadow.

It should turn into a blood moon -- a coppery red -- about an hour later and stay that way for over an hour, NASA says.

Tuesday's blood moon comes right on time for the Jewish festival of Passover, which commemorates the ancient Israelites' exodus from slavery in Egypt. According to the Bible, God cast 10 plagues upon the Egyptians, the final plague being the death of the firstborn. The Israelites painted lamb's blood on their doorways so that this plague would pass over their homes."

Obviously we know that this is not a "stroke of luck" as the URL indicates. I merely posted this because it gives us in detail when we can see it.

Awesome alignment: Mars, Earth, sun to line up Tuesday

It will be a bright burnt orange (emphasis mine) color, NASA's Mars Exploration Program reports, and almost 10 times brighter than the brightest stars in the sky.

Another treat awaits April 14 (emphasis mine), when the full moon also will appear near Mars.
