The Draconid Meteor Shower – A Storm is Coming!

The Draconids are coming! Will this meteor shower produce a storm of observable meteors, or just a minor squall? The Draconid Meteor Show should begin on October 8, 2011 starting at dusk (roughly 19:00 BST) and continue through the evening. Peak activity of this normally minor and quiet shower is estimated to be at 21:00 BST (20:00 UT). There seems to be a wide range of predictions for this year’s shower, but some astronomers believe there could be up to 1,000 meteors per hour, making this a meteor storm!

The Draconids or Giacobinids as they are also known, radiate from a point in the constellation of Draco the Dragon in the Northern hemisphere. In the past, notably in 1933 and 1946, the Draconids turned into a meteor storm with meteor rates of more than one every second!

So, will this year bring us a storm? Astronomers believe so as the predicted path of the Earth through the debris streams of comet 21P/Giacobini-Ziner is favorable for a major storm, similar to what has been seen in previous years. Some reports say NASA is even considering the potential risk of damage to the International Space Station and other satellites due to meteroid impacts.

There are signs in the heavens and no doubt , there will be more.
And...I expect we will have perfect hind sight after the rapture as to what they all meant. All I know now is that I am waiting with expectation and I am not afraid to be excited when I see things because I am convinced that Who I have believed, will come for us , JUST AS HE SAID. I can't help my imperfect understandings or my impatience to go home. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Why? I'm not sure what you're asking 'why' about but one thing is certain from scripture: God speaks to mankind through creation. In fact it's what's listed as the reason God says that man is "without excuse" in Romans 1. He sends signs throughout creation so man will see that He is there. The complexity of a DNA strand - the fact that no two snowflakes are the same even though countless numbers have fallen from the sky over the thousands of years ... on and on. God makes it clear that there is something MUCH greater than creation itself - the Creator. One sign He has set forth in scripture ("Who has ears to hear, let him hear") is listed in Revelation 12. If indeed this is what it means then He is proving that the scriptures are accurate so we will believe.

John 14:29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

God wants man to believe in His Son. His Son was born of a virgin. The Father wants ALL eyes to look toward Him for in Him alone is life and hope.

So Elenin turns out to be a no-show ... for once the Gov was telling the truth. But one thing seems inescapable to me: WHY so many comets and so many large objects (4x the size of Jupiter, I think??) hitting the sun? And the CNN clip about the dark planet just outside Pluto - and that being the likely reason for the influx of comets and asteroids.

Perhaps many are feeling a little discouraged or like we were all worked up over nothing. September came and went and all the things we thought would make September a pivotal and one of the most significant time-periods in recent history...and here we are 4 October and all seems quiet. Pastor JD's message on this topic is very timely and I highly recommend it. Here's the take-away for me: Nothing really happened in September both on earth and in the heavens and we were expecting both. How much closer are these things now that we're in October? Perhaps the timing was off a bit but I personally have no doubt we're still about to experience everything we expected in Sept and perhaps a whole lot more. Sure, when we set up on this site in 2004 we ALL thought it'd be short-lived. Each time our hosting bill comes up I purchase a 2-year bloc and hope that if the rapture happens within that time the site will remain up even if just for a short time for those left behind that've never heard the gospel.

BTW, it's one reason I so often put that gospel booklet onto my signature. I want the good tidings of HOPE to reach anyone reading our board ... now or in the future.

Anyway, just wanted to share all that.

Well, Elenin was supposed to become visable this month in the early morning hours, but appears to have broken up. However, Comet Honda M-P should be visible in the early morning, 90 minutes or so before sunrise. The link below has a couple of good charts to help find it.

Signs can point forward OR backward. God sees the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev 13:8).

God is not boxed in by time, which He created when He put the planets He created into motion. I have no problem with Him broadcasting to the world (via signs in the heavens) that they really should listen to the One that was born of a virgin.

Do you not agree with this?

M, we're still watching for the conclusion event.

Actually, I was thinking about the idea that the woman clothed in the sun with the moon at her feet and Venus leaves her womb the first week of October and then Saturn crowns the birth canal on 11/11/11. This sign in the heavens is still on going.

What does Venus represent? What does Saturn represent? The AC appearing as Firecharger asks?

A picture of the Pally state being born, not on 9/29/11, but later in the near future. Scripture said it will happen but the fight over Jerusalem is where God will step in and this Pally state will be very short lived. This is only my opinion. Not trying to contrive, only to observe what is/could be there.
Perhaps this Scripture fits?
Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Doesn't mean the Pally state and AC rising will happen on certain dates, but in the near future. ???

It appears yesterday's comet that dove into the sun blacked out STEREO A&B or else NASA just happened to bleep out that event from some of their satellites but it was still caught by several people who are trying to stay on top of whatever is still coming. If you check you will find several other videos describing this event. It is the largest "sun diving comet" I have seen and the CME is HUGE.

Wendy, you bring up this gal's video about the picture of giving birth by these particular earthquakes by looking at the city and geographic location of these quakes. The message is unmistakable to me. Firecharger mentioned that Scripture is so deep sometimes there are multiple meanings to a prophesy or multiple prophesies to one prophesy. I agree with this. This picture of giving birth as a sign of (Rapture/Tribulation??) here Firecharger postulates the sign of Virgo giving birth to Jupiter on 9/29/2017 is a heralding of the Return of Jesus Christ, the Messiah the King of Kings. We already know about the Constellation Virgo giving birth to Venus and Saturn on 9/29/11.
