The official denied reports of a US ultimatum by which Netanyahu must respond by next month to US President Barack Obama's outline for negotiations in his Middle East speech. Steve Simon, senior National Security Council advisor on the Middle East, held a conference call with Jewish leaders on Friday in which he said that the Palestinians had indicated that they would move forward with talks on the basis of Obama’s plan if Israel agreed to as well and that the US was now waiting for Israel’s answer, according to participants on the off-the-record call.

"There's no timetable with the Americans. We did not receive any ultimatum or hint of one. There is no conflict with the US," the official responded.

    But we also have.....
White House waiting for Netanyahu to accept Obama’s peace talk principles
"Those discussions are ongoing. The time frame for those discussions is kind of compressed, because UN rules basically say that the Palestinians have to submit all the paperwork before the Security Council actually meets in September .That really pushes us back into July, so we’ve got basically a month to see if we can work something out with the Israelis and Palestinians on accepting these principles as a basis for negotiations. If that happens, we are somewhat confident that the Palestinians would drop their action in the UN.”

Could be wrong, but I personally believe when somebody vehemently denies something, it is probably true, as Shakespeare says...

So Israel could either accept Obama's partition plan or else the Arabs could appeal to the UN with Resolution 181, which could both have the same stipulations - '67 borders plus Jerusalem and Western Wall... I don't see Netanyaho accepting it, unless he just has no other choice or has an acceptable incentive.

Nabil Sha'ath says UN Resolution 181 is one of many options PA is considering if US rejects Palestinian statehood bid.
“Even if the US uses the veto, there will be 131 UN members that recognize Palestine,” he said. “The US then won’t be able to stop these countries from treating us as a state.”
It could play out this way. The U.S. is determined to stop the Palestinian statehood bid. Not sure why? They are afraid of wars? But the Arabs can still get enough UN votes for the General Assembly to give Israeli lands to the Arabs and recognize Palestine as a state. And one of the men from the 131 UN members could be the "he" who confirms the covenant with many.

Who was the people who destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD? It is the ruler who is to come from this people who will confirm the peace agreement....the Temple Mount has been desolate, and wars have never ceased to this day.

It was Rome who destroyed the city and the sanctuary. The ruler will come out of Italy, or perhaps Rome is a metaphor for the most visited city in the European Union (UN), and also Rome is a metaphor for the Vatican???

Vatican calls for independent Palestinian state 'soon'

Pope Benedict XVI meets PA President Abbas at Vatican, says its urgent that Palestinian state, Israel "live in security, at peace with neighbors."

After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

Wait a minute maybe I have that wrong. The "ruler who will come will destroy the city and sanctuary" was the Roman leader Titus Caesar.... referring to verse 26.

Verse 27 says "he", referring to the leader who will confirm the covenant that will bring peace and allow for the Temple. That doesn't mean he is from the same people as the "ruler" who destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in verse 26, correct? Scripture doesn't really say what people or nationality the AC comes from, does it?

There are many, many years between verse 26 and verse 27, the Church Age between Pentecost and the Rapture, right?

The Palestinians it seems are losing support for a UN declaration from all the articles today. If so then everything has changed???? And to what???

          I noticed that too.

Well, if the Palestinians can't get enough UN votes for statehood, they might engage in more violence, rioting, wars with Israel because they perceive Israel is occupying the disputed lands which the Palestinians claim as their own. (Obama and others have as much as stated this).

And if Obama can't come up with a plan that Bibi and the PA agree to, then somebody will have to step in and offer a peace agreement that both parties will accept, whether it's this summer or in September or even later?

Interesting how things change so quickly.
