I just wonder why now? Why is Osama dead now? I believe he could have been taken out years ago. Who stopped this? Who wanted him dead now and
why? Who benefits from this? and so what if he is dead, I see the muslim machine of propaganda steam rolling through North America so I think Osama and crew win for now until the Righteous Judge says "Enough!" .

Ps 46 says to the nations "Be still, know that He is God" and "He will be exalted on the earth" . I cant wait for His "will to be done on earth as it is in heaven."

        Hi Wendy
I tend to think of it this way.
There was apprehension in killing Bin Laden even last December. Would it refuel jihad in the ME. Had all the work they had been doing for years, be all unraveled??
The events of the Arab Spring showed the jihadist in major decline.(The second artilce) The work of the world leaders has taken firm control. The timing couldn't have been better.

Interesting question that is being raised in articles today.
Could Osama bin Laden's Death Bankrupt al-Qaeda?

Financially, al-Qaeda may be heading for bankruptcy too. The terrorist network has been hit by a double whammy: the death of its charismatic leader and the Arab Spring, the popular and democratic uprising against cutthroat despots. No longer can al-Qaeda and its offspring sell itself to Muslims as the sole alternative to tyrannical regimes
In other words, al-Qaeda is strapped for cash. And that was even before it lost bin Laden, the star attraction.

US pressing for Mideast reforms: Feltman

The United States is pushing governments in the Middle East to meet pressing demands for reform and to realise that the "climate has changed," a senior official said on Tuesday.

"We are telling the governments your people are talking. Meet their demands and aspirations. The responsibility of governments and leaders is to address the challenges in their countries," Jeffrey Feltman, US assistant secretary of state, told a group of journalists in Amman.

"We have seen what had taken place in Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Syria, and we have had some demonstrations here, there were commonalities. Leaders must understand that the climate has changed."

"I spoke to the Jordanians about the planning, the progress and the timeline in the reform effort," he said.

"Now, I will report back to Washington on the sincerity and seriousness of the Jordanian reform effort."
