The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

  • CANADIAN ELECTION

Stephen Harper won a majority for the Conservatives.
We need to pray that he will back out of any support for the Palestinian state.
I also expect him to repeal the Liberal Long Gun Registry.

Our official opposition is the NDP-New Democratic Party (socialists , union supporters). This is a switch as this was always our distant 3rd party.
Interesting that in French speaking Quebec the NDP was chosen over the Bloc Q --a separatist party. This may be interesting to watch-- brand new mps adjusting to parliament and balancing between appeasing French voters and the rest of Canada. The NDP are the ones who just love Keynesian economics and we know where that has ended up in the world. The Conservatives and everyone have been sucked into the Keynesian vacuum but with a Majority , perhaps Harper can move more toward economic policy that Milton Friedman would applaud .

"Concentrated power is not rendered harmless by the good intentions of those who create it. "--I like this quote by Friedman. Those who think the ends justifies the means would do well to think on this a while.

Pray for our new government .

    Hi Wendy
What I found interesting about our election was the fact the NDP came in second. Some of the NDP winning members are university students.
The beliefs and ideology of the 18 to 35 year olds is growing and spreading to the other age brackets very quickly now it seems. They are the same groups that has such influence, and for the most part, lead the revolts for democracy in the ME etc. They were the fuel for the fire.
In the world, there does seem to be a new trend rising. This shift has and will influencing even the old standard political parties, here and everywhere else in this world.
We have a majority conservative government but it won't be the majority conservative government from the days of old. The dreams/spirit of the one world group hug, which is how it is being portrayed, is becoming reality.

    The OWO theology is spreading.

      Oh PS
The separatist in Quebec were all but wiped out. Another sign of the times and an indication of the spread.

What comes to mind is that John Dewy and Fabian Socialists, through our school system have done their jobs well. Hosea says "My people perish through lack of knowledge", no longer do our students read such works as
Hayek's : Road to Serfdom, Smith's: Wealth of Nations and Milton Friedman's modern day refutations of Milton Keynes. What students read are snipets with spin from their text books. I was asking my son's friends ( grade 12) about the election and they were sad the NDP did not have more seats, they were dismayed to see the Conservative Party get in, and wish more green votes happened. I am dismayed that most of Vancouver Island went NDP.
James Lunny CP- is the riding next to ours and I know James that he is a staunch supporter of Israel . That aside, I shudder for what the next generation of social media lemmings will do because they have no sense of history nor understanding of fundamentals. I was asked during the election about what the worst problem facing Canadians was : I said "stupidity", but if I had to answer taht question off the top of my head again I should have said, that they lack Biblical foundations. When the foundations crumble what do the righteous do?--Proverbs and somewhere else in the Bible it talks of the young ruling over the old as a curse. We see that in mid east demographics, and in the arogant attitudes of the self righteous and green-movement young who are on the road to serfdom.

When you say that it wont be the Conservatives from days of old--I dont mind so much as long as they adhere to much of what the old REform Party stood for under Preston Manning , however I know that they will be pushed into a globalist vortex of Keynesian mish mash ---except I wonder if the people prayed fervently if God would listen for just a little while longer.

Election 2011: Harper's attack on the Canadian Arab and Muslim community

          http://rabble.ca/news/2011/04/electi...slim-community

Put another way the Conservative government of Stephen Harper has been the most anti-Arab and anti-Muslim government in Canadian history. Harper's government's actions have gone far beyond rhetoric. Palestinian, Arab, Muslim and even Jewish dissident voices have been marginalized and attacked for being anti-Semitic for defending Palestinian human rights or for presenting pro-Arab opinions. Many organizations who received government money and who showed any support or sympathy for the Palestinian perspective have had their government funding slashed.

Jason Kenney, Harper's Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, aided by Liberal M.P. Irwin Cotler and their allies in the Conservative, Liberal and NDP parties have even established a Parliamentary Committee to Combat Anti-Semitism whose primary goal was to delegitimize critics of Israel's policy and even attempt to criminalize criticism of Israel as "anti-Semitic."

The semi-official Parliamentary committee received substantial government funding and its proceedings were published by the Parliamentary Gazette giving it the appearance of being an official Canadian government document. The Bloc Québécois, who initially participated in the Committee, withdrew because, in its opinion, it was biased and refused to even let appear before it any Palestinian, Arab-Muslim or dissenting Jewish opinion.

Harper's government's continuous attempts to defund, censor and marginalize pro-Palestinian individuals and organizations is a very serious problem facing Canada's Arab and Muslim communities.
