The End of MWM
Greetings all,
Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.
Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.
What a glorious day that will be.
In Christ alone,
Andy

Re: Soaring price of food is getting harder for consumers to digest
Janet posted a link in February here and at the link is this video:
In the article that cornerstone33 linked, starting this thread, there are a few interesting comments ..
Blame soaring gas prices, rising costs for commodities like corn and wheat, and a bigger global demand for a smaller food supply."There's nothing out there that's telling us that commodity and energy prices are coming down," he said. "We're probably going to see the highest food prices we've seen in a long time."The conditions driving up prices vary, but the single underlying factor making everything more expensive is high gas prices, ...
I don't know if there will be a QE3 or not .. Mr. Bernanke (difficult sometimes to be respectful of some folk when they are literally stealing from you .. think about it.) is saying no; that QE2 will end and that's it. I personally doubt it because the U.S. and much of the world has allowed itself to enter a lose-lose situation. I say "allowed" but that's not accurate in the sense that they understand what "creating 'money' out of thin air" means ... but allowed, in the sense that they've allowed themselves to not understand economics. Instead, they just take what spills out of the talking heads on the tube .. well, LCD or Plasma these days .. as being the truth because they don't want to spend a little time understanding just what it is that the gov't in conjunction with the central bankers, is up to.
Sad that in the U.S. where a mandatory 13 years "education" is the rule, in the midst of a (so called) capitalist system, most graduate not having a clue what capitalism is, how economy works, why it doesn't, etc. Blame the neo-socialists at the helm of public "education."
Issachar, just getting ... barely getting, started. The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.
Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

Oh I've been noticing the grocery prices on the rise. A few weeks ago I was at a Super Target and went to pick up the Land O Lakes butter (four stick package) and what used to be $2.99 was over $5.00. Needless to say I put it back down. Also this past week I went to buy toliet paper, granted it was charmin Mega Roll in their biggest packaging usually about $15 to $17.00, it was $20.00 Yikes!
I've been stocking up for the past few months on items when I see them on sale because we had been warned by Glenn and Fox News that this spring prices were going to sky rocket. I'm glad I listened.
Even so, in our area we are truly blessed to have what is called an Aldi Store. You can purchase food pretty inexpensively there. It's a stock up store so if you want you can just buy a case of something and no one thinks anything weird about ya, lol. Extremely affordable and has probably about 90% of the grocery items that you'd need.

We have Aldi's around here in NWO hio. I like that they have bible verses on the inside of their egg cartons. I don't know if that is chain wide, but around here they do.

Worse and worse that's what it is. As the gas goes up, so will everything else and it's prroving it. Every week, I see the item's I buy going up also and it's getting worse. I have an aldi's near me also but I do know how to eat less and it's better for me anyway. Lot of people not eating meat anymore, they are going more to macaroni/rice and beans for their protein which does work. Have to cut corners and get ready for what is coming because I do believe it's coming and it will hit us all.
But Jesus is coming also, and I do believe soon so hang in there, and it will all be ok. People need to help one another, and be kind it always works during situations like this.

Yes, food prices are way up, but has anyone checked where the food is coming from? I had a difficult time finding frozen veggies for soup last fall so I was checking labels when they finally came in. Seems there was a lot of foods coming from mexico and guatemala and processed in canada. They went right thru the US and came back to retail chains based in the south. Then I remembered the highway they wanted to build that went straight from Texas to Canada. Guess this is what it was for.
Also I'm guessing TPTB don't mind flooding farmland in the heartland... after all, it makes us to purchase food products grown elsewhere, and thus furthers the global economy.
I'm trying to buy only USA grown products, but it's nearly impossible, just try it.
