The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

  • your thoughts and Godly advice please

I've been asked to sing at the California statewide NAACP conference (gospel music).
I just found out today that the California branch of the NAACP endorses same sex marriage and I'm having a problem with singing for them now.

Should I still sing and prayerfully be a light and a witness or should I not associate myself with a group who endorses same sex marriage?

    Thanks for your prayerful advice.

You'll have to let your conscience be your guide on this one.
If it were me, (and if you ever heard me sing, you'll know that it wouldn't be) then I would go ahead and do it, especially if you're singing praises to the Lord.
Don't hide your candle under a bed.

    Good Luck.

I would go and let my light shine for the Lord. I don't think by just performing there that you are endorsing what they believe. Just my opinion. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity.

roro-what a great opportunity to use your God given talents to glorify the Lord. I agree, I would use it to sing Gospel songs (only!) and pray that God uses the opportunity to open hearts to His truth.

Just a thought...there is always a chance that people might think that you support that view of the NAACP. Just pray hard so that you can discern whether you can glorify God there. You must have a gorgeous voice so there will always be other opportunities too.

Ask God to pick your song. Ask Him to cause it to speak to someone's soul.Ask Him for an opportunity to share your witness and give reason fo rthe hope (and joy) within you. Pray and sing and praise Him

Thank you all for your advice.

I do have to say that I am a little shocked with everyone's response (including my husband's ), that I should go and sing.
I believe this is an area that I am so set against (same sex marriage) that I don't want to have anything closely to do with it! But I will continue to pray over my decision, it's a month away.
Am I being to judgemental regarding this issue? I just feel the world is compromising now by accepting homosexuality and I don't want to be that way...
I love gay people, my best cousin-friend is a lesbian, but she never talks about it with me. Am I too harsh?

I think it's interesting I was going through the same thing over the weekend - debating whether to quit my job - I work at a black gospel station. and while the network (the rejoice network) is fine, the local programming is anything but christian. they mix cults, and other religions with christianity, one "faith" is not held in higher regard than another. and they consider all to be worshipping the same god. I felt the Lord was telling me to give them my 2 week notice. but I didnt quite have the nerve since I have no income now! today the manager did it for me! my job ends in 2 weeks - so I guess I did hear right the first time. not that I am saying you should make the same decision - you need to follow your convictions. but I wonder if the Lord is preparing us now for the kind of "no compromise" decisions we will have to make shortly?

No wonder about it, He is without a doubt preparing us to make "no compromise" decisions. Blessed be His name.

                  Ro,
Just a couple of questions. No need to answer, just something for you to ponder.
Will you be singing fo a godless organization, or for those who may need to hear the Gospel? Will you have agreement with what you are going to sing, or will there have to be compromise? Is the NAACP using your music as a political tool to appease the religious members, and does it make a difference to you?
Whatever the answers we will support you, as you let the Holy Spirit guide you.
                  Blessings.
                  YBIC,
                  Glenn

wow! that sounds like a strange radio station

I think the LORD is preparing us for the "no compromise" decisions. I don't want to fail Him, He's so gracious toward me.

I wish it was "strange" but I think it is indicative of where our culture is heading - they are trying to show how open-minded and godly they are by "allowing" other faiths to have the same respect as christianity. I wonder if the rejoice network would cut them off if they knew what they are "yoked" with in this market?
even the christian ministers on that station are very new age, open to any new thing that comes along presenting itself as godly. they are not grounded in the Word. islam is promoted more than Christ, even by those calling themselves christian. cults are accepted as just another denomination!
It is so sad - there are good hearted people there, but they are so lost!
