Re: Proof Obama was a British citizen
.. seems pretty clear to me.
Mr. Beck is among the mockers of "birthers" .. I wonder if he will comment on this video as I'm certain he is aware of it.
IssacharThe church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.
Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.
I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken - dylan
Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Re: Proof Obama was a British citizen
Yah, Beck started his TV program off tonight with a knock against the birthers. He feels that we need to ignore this issue, it will do more harm than good. Click..., off goes the TV.
I disagree. I am at the point of really not caring who wins the next election, nothing changes. What I do want to see is the truth about Obama's eligibility. I want to see this citizenship question be enforced on new candidates who want to run in the next election. And I mean that Obama needs to pull out that birth certificate to run in 2012.

Re: Proof Obama was a British citizen
So Glenn Beck makes a slam against Donald Trump insinuating that Donald's out there looking for the birth certificate with a metal detector.
Glenn: "the President loves the birth certificate, L O V E S the birth certificate argument..., loves it. It's a poke in the eye and it just makes people look ridiculous..., it really does."
me: so wanting to know the truth makes me look ridiculous? Makes anyone wanting the truth look ridiculous? Really?

Re: Proof Obama was a British citizen
Mocking is a dead give away to cover up and a weak position. It is also very effective in gaining the confidence of the casual hearer. It motivates, seeks to influence, on a very base level.
There are times when God or the prophets mock, but in my mind it’s like righteous anger – a thin line to tread. I get heavily tempted sometimes in this area, so I have thought about it a bit.
At the heart of mocking another’s position or questions, I find flippancy. it’s really a dismissing of an individual, not just a position.
From screwtape:
But flippancy is the best of all. In the first place it is very economical. Only
a clever human can make a real Joke about virtue or indeed about anything else; (but) any of them can be trained to talk as if virtue were funny. Among flippant people the Joke is always assumed to have been made. No one actually makes it; but every serious subject is discussed in a manner which implies that they have already found a ridiculous side to it.
If prolonged, the habit of Flippancy builds up around a man the finest armour-plating against the Enemy that I know, and it is quite free from the dangers inherent in the other sources of laughter. It is a thousand miles away from joy, it deadens instead of sharpening the intellect; and it excites no affection between those who practice it,
Your affectionate uncle
