The Hebrew encyclopedia and other sources say that at the time of the 2nd revolt from Rome in 135, The Hebrew leaders wanted the book of Daniel to say their leader was the Messiah. They refigured the calendar subtracting 240 years. In the confusion later, no one corrected this error. In reality, it’s the year 6010/11.

When the Hebrew leaders in 135 proclaimed their leader the Messiah, the Hebrew Christians refused to fight for the cause against Rome. This caused the final crisis between Judiasm and Christianity. The Jews thereafter said a person could not be both a Jew and a Christian--they had to choose..... Any Jews still following Jesus were ostracized from Judiasm......
