The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

That is one of the most bizarre things I ever saw! I don't think I'd want to be hangin' out in Japan for very long with the ground doing that. I want to find out if it is a very local thing .. regional? national? Just what is all this ground floating on? Water? At one point in the video we see water kind of gush up and spread out a little .. but is that a broken water line or is that what is under all this ground? Interesting.

Issachar .. hey Lewis .. what are the clapping hands for? There are a couple guys in the video that laugh some at what they are seeing .. Even if safe over here, I wouldn't want to see a whole nation sink ..

wow...it's like the ground is alive...like it's breathing. I'd get out of dodge too.

          that is scary indeed!
I feel so bad for those people having no where to run, what will Japan do?
I used to work with Japanese people and the ones I worked with had no thoughts of God, it was so sad. I would try to witness to them and it just seemed like they were not receptive.

          I'm so sad about it!

              Re: Japan is sinking

I believe Japan would be rising out of the sea as the pacific plate rides underneath … no?

I have never seen anything like that. There is obviously an earthquake per the reactions of the people. Perhaps water main breaks and a tremor at the same time? – guessing ….

Pray for those poor folk. This video is of the tsunami, a bit more up close and real than what we normally see. You can hear the cry’s of real people, and from what you see, it’s easy to assume a few did not make it.

If you can avoid reading all the comments after the story.....Glenn Beck's news site, The Blaze addresses this issue:

                    Re: Japan is sinking

I have heard / read the term Liquefaction before, but I always thought it was a short lived thing that was during the actual quake and not actual groundwater… this is good learning

This is an article on Christchurch dated from Feb 25:

                    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10708723

This I better than my original secondary theory of: giant – radioactive - fire breathing - sea crabs - controlled by aliens to attack Tokyo by underground tunneling. (I had suspicions it may have come from my youth spent watching badly dubbed foreign films…)

Oh my .. that tsunami video in post #7 is astounding! The energy of that thing! Those poor people .. watching all of their world awash with the sea. It just keeps coming and coming and coming. I cannot imagine being there.

                        Re: Japan is sinking

More on that "liquification of the soil" thing ..

The scale of Japan's March 11 earthquake and tsunami wasn't the only thing that surprised geologists.

The 9.0 earthquake in Japan — the fourth most powerful quake ever recorded — also caused an unusually severe and widespread shift in soil through liquefaction, a new study suggests.

Near coastlines, harbors and rivers, earthquakes can make the wet, sandy soil jiggle, turning it temporarily from a solid to a liquid state, a process known as liquefaction. Heavy sand and rock sinks, while water and lighter sand bubble to the surface. The slurry spreads, often toward the water, and the surface shifts.

Japan's liquefaction occurred over hundreds of miles, surprising even experienced engineers who are accustomed to seeing disaster sites, including from the recent earthquakes in Chile and New Zealand.

                        Other areas vulnerable

The study raises questions about whether existing building codes in other vulnerable locations can enable structures to withstand massive liquefaction, including in areas of Oregon, Washington and California.

"We've seen localized examples of soil liquefaction as extreme as this before, but the distance and extent of damage in Japan were unusually severe," ...
