  • Why have a debit ceiling?

If they are going to change it every year, they should just say "the sky is the limit" and be done with it.

I have learned that to raise the ceiling at my place, I must first raise the roof.

Re: Why have a debit ceiling?

The debt ceiling has always been a joke. The debt is for the (temporary) support of the desires of the flesh. The desires of the flesh cannot be satisfied ... but will keep trying. So, debt ceiling or not, man will find a way to attempt satisfying the desires of the flesh. Hence, ever increasing debt levels. Somehow, "paying the piper" will always be "something we'll deal with tomorrow" .. but as usual, when tomorrow arrives, it is no longer "tomorrow" so they will talk about the "new tomorrow." I've always taught my children that procrastination is the absolute best way, to make life's little problems go away. They WILL become large, unmanagable problems ... voila! No more little problems.

There is no sane person that would try to say that the national debt is a lie; a hoax. Everyone that matters, knows it is real and unsustainable. Instead of doing what is necessary, they will continue to try and find work arounds. They'll try to the end. Then there will be a huge chorus, in unison, saying something profound, like ... "oops."

There is also some on this matter here.

The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
