  • Are you growing weary?

    Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Last night when I went to bed I cried out, "Lord, I am growing weary of all that I see in this world."

I think the last straw for me is this WAR..., call it like it is Obama, with Lybia! Serious questions by people about "who are these rebels that you may possibly..., and probably willl..., arm?" "Who really called for these uprisings Obama?" "How deeply entrenched are you in this evil?" He certainly has surrounded himself with the most evil radicals our country has and has given them an open ended invitation to bring their evil plans into the White House.

You do not surround yourself with evil and come away untouched. You do not sit in the pews for 20 years and hear a hate filled radical pastor spew his hatred for the beloved Jewish people and not come away untouched.

What is also frightening is there is serious talk about the 2012 Presidential election and "who can possibly beat him?" More and more talk that we could possbily be in for four more years after this of Obama! I keep thinking 2012 can't come quickly enough to clean out that White House of radicals and then there is this fear that the GOP can't come up with someone strong enough to win the 2012 election???

I could go on and on..., black liberation theology..., redistribution of wealth which we are seeing with the investing in foreign countries for oil drilling with the tax payer's money, while our people in the oil industry have their hands tied, people are jobless all over the country, and our economy is in shambles as a result of greed and not being responsible with taxpayer money.

Then there are the birth pains this old world is experiencing. ~sigh~ So much suffering we are seeing. So much wondering how people can get back to square one when they have been ripped from their homes by earthquakes and tsunami's and nuclear incidents. The crazy weather all over the globe, flooding, etc will probably impact the growing season for our crops.

I think what has got me the most weary is the out and out lies and evil that is sooooo acceptable..., sooooo blatant in our government. They can speak lies with a straight face and sometimes they don't even bother to cover up those lies with a straight face, they have a knowing smile as they speak out. Evil, evil, evil!

Are there others just as weary as me about all these things out here?

Interesting timing....last night was tough for me, too.

Yes, VERY weary. We must learn to leave our burden with our Lord so He can make it light for us...and give us rest.

It's exciting and scary at the same time. We've never seen our world in such an uproar at one time. We've never seen so many nations gathered against Israel. We've never seen the US turn against Christians, Christian principles and a total blurring of right and wrong. We knew these things would come...we know we're in the end of the End Times. We need to keep "looking up" for truly our redemption draws nigh. We must run the race that's been set in front of us. Countless other Christians have done so and are at His right hand waiting for the redemption of their bodies. With God working in and through us we, too, can run and be faithful. We can overcome the absolute IMPOSSIBLE...walk on water that is being churned by a vicious storm.....IF we keep our eyes on Jesus.

My prayers go out to each poster and reader of this forum...may we be found faithful at His coming...whenever that is and whatever we have to go through "till He come."

            Hebrews 12

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

This is one of the Scriptures I refer to when I get weary, looking at how Jesus endured so much because He had the joy set before Him in view, I just thought I would share it.... Maybe I shouldn't have?

The spirit of ac is here and we must draw closer to Christ like never before. Putting on the full armour of God to stop the firery darts of the enemy.

I pray Jesus comes back soon also. So many people depressed and have anxiety and are stressed out from this ungodly and oppressed world.

One day at a time my friends, hang in there because your redemption is drawing nigh!!

Not at all - just trying to understand why you would quote a verse about the Lord disciplining us. Are you suggesting that when we grow weary that we're sinning in some way and need His hand of discipline?

I really appreciated that verse. … When you’re one of us types that keeps an eye on the world you have to keep an eye on him. It’s like a deep sea diver coming up for air.

I didn’t think of it as negative or even correction, it’s just how us pilgrims in an evil land get refreshed on this long hike through the dark valley.

I get sick to my stomach when I study or look at occultism, sometimes you half to take the break and do that other side of the hope -

Why was Roro's post deleted? I saw nothing wrong with it.
When we're weary, it's possible to fall into sin. Falling into sin is easier when we're tired and discouraged. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have done so.
Although the weary we're talking about is just being tired of all the bad stuff that happens, and waiting for something for something positive.

I'm really sorry - I was just trying to understand why that particular verse in the midst of this particular thread...it's good to know that some of the readers were blessed by it.

                            I'm sorry...

                              Denise,

I too am weary. This has been one mondo bad week! The only thing that made it tolerable is workship team practice for me. I went in weary, and came out renewed. Everyone at practice was having a difficult night. We really couldn't pull it together, till very late into practice. I think there is alot of real spiritual warfare going on right now. My part of the scripture reading included phil. 4 4-7,

                              {4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.}
so spoke to me and my situation. I look forward to that day went Jesus comes for us. To lay down this burden and take up with joy the life I was truly meant to have. What can I say, JESUS is Lord to the glory of God!
