  • Chapter and Verse

I know that chapters and verses were man made, but...

I find it interesting that the same ideas are expressed in two different book with similar notations.

Exo 13:16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes:

Rev_13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

    Makes one wonder!

    Interesting.

I'd have to look it up to see exactly what he said, but once I read a comment by Dr. Henry Morris (ICR) where he was pointing out that there are 66 books in the Bible, 66 chapters in Isaiah, 39 books in the OT and 27 in the NT and that the first 39 chapters of Isaiah were somehow like all of the OT and the last 27 chapters were something about grace and the NT. If you're interested in that, I'll look it up at home when I get the time and post it; but the number things are correct.

I don't know that "chapters and verses" are "inspired" per se, but God knew we would need them in our world and even though they are "the invention of man", could it be that He oversaw their assigning somehow?

Issachar .. thinks that may be the case, but doesn't know ..
The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken - dylan

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
