Time for Mubarak to step down: John McCain

“Regrettably the time has come 4 Pres Mubarak 2 step down (and) relinquish power,” McCain said in a post on the microblogging site Twitter roughly an hour after discussing the bloody political crisis in Egypt with Obama.

“It’s in the best interest of Egypt, its people (and) its military,” said the lawmaker, Obama’s rival for the US presidency in 2008 and the top Republican on the US Senate Armed Services Committee.

My guess... there maybe more to fear now if Mubarak stays to put his son in that position. He has burned his bridges with the west.

I suspect this tells it all.

There isn't enough support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. So in a fair election they wouldn't be a problem.

We know that in the end, the whole world will be against Israel. What's going on in Egypt and what, IMO, will expand to Jordan and other ME countries, is just one more event to bring that about. If the Muslim Brotherhood takes further advantage of this situation and attains power in Egypt, look for the anti-Israel rhetoric throughout the ME to be stepped up a notch or two.

imho, it won't be an "unknown" replacing Mubarak. Whoever it is that the powers that be want in there, will be there. What they don't know though, is that God has known all this since the foundation of the world. I think Mubarak probably "happened" to be on the side of the one world order/ME peace people but wasn't one of their puppets. The new guy will be both.

    Issachar, just guessin' ...

I know there are internal problems in Egypt as in many other countrues, however I am still wondering why at a time ME peace is being negotiated the world is turning on a leader who has brought stability to a turbulent region...any ideas? I could understand it if Mubarak were a leader holding up the peace process. I would think it might be best to deal with a known rather than unknown in the interest of peace at such a time as this.

wonderful .. the U.S. needed to be involved militarily somewhere I guess ...

This whole Egypt thing, imho, is on the surface of something much, much larger in the ME. Our watching all these past years may be ratcheted up another notch very soon here.
