a tape from one of our muslim friends aired on abc news:

"Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, God willing. At this time, don't count on us demonstrating restraint or compassion," the tape warns. "We are Muslims. We love peace, but peace on our terms, peace as laid down by Islam, not the so-called peace of occupiers and dictators."

I saw the tape this morning. This guy is an American citizen from California. Just became a muslim. I wonder if they know if he's in the USA or hiding out somewhere with OBL? If he's here, I just pray to God that we're doing everything we can to capture him now that he's made this threat. That is legal, I hope? Or does he have to commit a crime first? God forbid!
From what I understand the primary concern is that whoever is working with him is more than likely from the same area of California, which would make them familiar with the surroundings and better able to carry out an attack.

Exactly four years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror onslaught against the U.S., a brand new communiqué broadcast on ABC News is targeting Los Angeles for more attacks.

"Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, God willing. At this time, don't count on us demonstrating restraint or compassion," the 11-minute tape warns. "We are Muslims. We love peace, but peace on our terms, peace as laid down by Islam, not the so-called peace of occupiers and dictators."

Intelligence officials believe the man whose face is partially covered to be Adam Gadahn of Orange County, Calif. Gadahn sent a similar tape for the terrorist network last year.

"Don't believe the lies of the liars at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and 10 Downing Street," Gadahn insists. "They have dispatched your sons and daughters to die lonely deaths in the burning deserts of Iraq and the unforgiving mountains of Afghanistan."

According to ABC, Gadahn went from a typical southern California teenager who liked heavy metal music to an operative for al-Qaida in just a few years. He reportedly converted to Islam at an Orange County mosque, and was influenced by terrorists who brought him to Pakistan.

Only a few years ago, Adam Gadahn was a southern California teenager with interests in the environment and heavy metal music.

His family says he converted to Islam at an Orange County mosque. There, officials say Gadahn came under the influence of militants who took him to Pakistan.

His latest message warns of an imminent attack on Americans unless the U.S. halts its military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also threatened are Great Britain and Australia.

"We love peace, but when the enemy violates that peace or prevents us from achieving it, then we love nothing better than the heat of battle, the echo of explosion, and the slitting of the throats of the infidels," the tape says.

"The statement broadcast this morning on Good Morning America should come as no surprise to anyone," said Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the city's police department in a joint release this morning. "The statement was meant to instill fear, and fear is the most important weapon the terrorists possess."

While local officials admitted L.A. is a terror target, they said there are no known, credible threats against the city, calling the tape propaganda.

On the rest of the tape, Gadahn tries to dispel rumors that Osama bin Laden is dead, and he closes by mentioning the names of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers who flew planes into New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon. "Everyone of us is Mohammed Atta," he says.

I was wondering today if perhaps they were going to do a 10/11, then a 12/11, then a 1/11 and so on. Would be nice to set aside the stupid political
correctness and do some racial profiling anyone that looks Islamic.

Also its time to send many back to family and fiends where they came from if they are contemptuous of western traditions. Duh ---why are you on western soil if you hate it so much???!!!!

My sympathies are wearing very thin , better to err on the side of a bit of good old protectionism , some may say rascism but better that than restricting the lives and freedoms of the citizenry , to be safe. We can appologize later when/if Moslems have decided to behave themselves . It may make them police themselvs a little better.

I feel sorry that the kid has never accepted the true word of Jesus.I also
feel sorry for his family, it has to be hard to see a family member on tv
denouncing his country and wanting many of his fellow americans to die.

I agree except my husband, who is 3/4 Scottish and 1/4 English, would be one of those constantly harrassed at the borders because he is so dark skinned and black eyed. Nobody can ever guess what nationality he is, but they always guess Spanish, Mexican, Indian, Italian - whatever country he goes to, they always think he's one of them. They even speak their language to him! He has discovered, however, that wearing a suit to travel in seems to create a better profile for him than casual clothes.

One day he was supposed to meet an American doctor for a business meeting in Canada. But the American called to say he couldn't come because he forgot his ID and they wouldn't let him cross at the border crossing in Blaine/White Rock. So my husband said he would go down to meet him there instead. But when he got to the border and saw the crowds and long lines, he remembered that it was the first anniversary of 9/11 that day. When he drove up to the window, they asked him for ID and he gave them his drivers license, but they wanted proof of citizenship, a passport or something. He said he wasn't planning to cross the border that day so he didn't have it with him. (This is where the racial profiling got him.) They asked him to please step out of his car and open his trunk. What do you think they found there? Flight training manuals!! A whole boxful of them, because he was taking ground school so he could learn to fly a helicopter. These customs officers did not like what they saw and hauled him into their offices for hours of interrogation. When they found nothing, they let him go, but then he had to go through the whole thing again on the Canadian side. Needless to say, he and his doctor friend DID NOT have a meeting that day!
