Re: On Not having a television
It was quite an interesting collection of the formerly famous.

The End of MWM
Greetings all,
Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.
Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.
What a glorious day that will be.
In Christ alone,
Andy

And then there was Neil Young's song about how all roads lead to God. WOW was that an eye-opener! "God Made Me" I think was the actual name of the song.

I actually watched the "Shelter From the Storm" benefit show. To be honest, 80% of the songs sung were slow gospel type of songs. Rod Stewart even sang a song about the Gospel Train. Can't remember what it's actual name was, but have heard it before. Many singers used the name of Jesus in prayerful ways while singing. I was pleasantly surprised that so many used either Jesus's name or sang to God prayerfully.
It wasn't showy, with audience or anything like that. It was just the singers getting up there before a camera, singing their song and then it would go to a person who spoke a little about Katrina.
I think they actually did a very good job and hope that a lot of money that will benefit Katrina survivors was raised.

I think the old Bell H-13s and Hiller H-23s(?) (the ones you see before every episode of MASH) are just the coolest things ever. I'd love to have one parked out front, but even if I could afford it, the FAA would never let someone with my eyesight off the ground.

It's also one of the benefits of having 200 channels. There's usually something worthwhile on somewhere. The trick is to find it. If nothing else is on, the Military Channel always has something of interest to a history buff.
I think I can find the Salvation Army without the help of Kanye West.
