Would you not think that everyone in the whole world will hear this "Shout"? Would it not be secret to the unbelievers? They will hear this shout and wonder what is going on and see all around them that many have disappeared before their eyes. It can't be secret w/ this Shout of the Lord and the Trump. Or can it?
I've only read of one 2nd coming in the word. Not a secret 2nd coming and then the 3rd which will be the last. But the Bible doesn't say a 3rd coming. If the Rapture does happen and I hope it does, the rapture will be the 2nd coming. I just can't recall Christ saying there will be a secret coming between the 1st and the 2nd. Just curious.

I'm thinking God is QUITE able to ensure those that He wants will hear the shout and those He doesn't want to - won't.

No, Jesus didn't openly talk about the rapture - it was a mystery revealed to Paul many years later. Christ also didn't talk about a mostly-Gentile body of believers that would be considered brothers and sisters to believing Jews - this, too, was a mystery revealed to Paul.

Do a word-search on "Mystery" - the results are quite fascinating.

Jesus was not the One to reveal ALL truths while He was on earth - in fact He even says so:

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Re: What to Do if You Miss the Rapture

Thanks Andy for your input. I shall look it up.

As far as the rest of my post, anyone care to comment on this secret 2nd coming and unbiblical 3rd coming?

Maybe the rapture is called 1 and 1/2 coming in between the 1st & 2nd coming...? I'm trying to understand both sides so I can make my conclusion.

        Thanks

It's going to take a LOT of study on your part. There is nothing 100% clear in scripture - JUST like the first and second comings were 100% unclear to those from old testament times. Those dear folks studied scripture and one side was sure Jesus would come from Egypt, another side said He'd come from Bethlehem. In the end BOTH were right. Another known argument is He would come as a Suffering Servant - the other side said He'd come as a Conquering King. Once again, BOTH are right but with a few thousand years between.

Same thing here - you keep calling it a "Secret 2nd coming" - it's no secret to those of us that clearly see it in scripture. Matthew 24 - Jesus sends for His angels to gather the elect. 1 Thes 4 - He goes HIMSELF to call forth the dead then living in Christ. I already pointed to the 70 weeks of Daniel. In the "secret 2nd coming" (I refer to it as the catching up of the bride of Christ) Christ gathers us in the clouds. In the Second Coming (when His feet ACTUALLY touch the ground) the elect are gathered to Him in Jerusalem.

I could go on and on (and on and on...etc). Last I looked I had something like 25 pages of "Why Pretrib".

Perhaps this is indeed a subject we should dig into once again. It's been a LONG time.

Re: What to Do if You Miss the Rapture

Andy the reason I call it the 'secret' 2nd coming is because it would be secret to the unbelievers right? I know His feet wouldn't touch the ground if the rapture occurs but still that would be a 2nd coming for the church before the trib. And the 2nd coming when His feet touch the earth would be the 3rd coming that the Bible does not mention at all. Ok I'd be confused. Thanks for your input, I shall study study study

Yes, sister, MANY, COUNTLESS things are hidden from the eyes of unbelievers - both now and in the future.

Re: What to Do if You Miss the Rapture

I think it is less a "secret coming" and more rather a "sudden going". Jesus said "my sheep hear my voice and follow me", therefore, when the sheep hear the voice of the shepherd, they will suddenly, in a twinkling of an eye, follow Him. Where do we follow Him to? He said "in my father's house are many mansions...I go to prepare a place for you...if I go, I will receive you to myself, so that where I am there you may be also." We will follow Him to where he is now.

In Rev 4:1 there is a call to John, many believe it is the same call that we will hear that says "come up here!" When we meet the Lord in the air it could be miles into the stratosphere where no one would be able to see, or it could be that we simply arrive in heaven in a moment, similar to death only with our new bodies intact. Either way, it is not a "coming" but a "going".

Personally, I believe that is what the "falling away" is all about. Apostasia is a complete separation of one from another. What could be more complete than the Bride of Christ being taken from the earth to cleave unto her new husband for all eternity?

Re: What to Do if You Miss the Rapture

I all I can say is what JESUS said, pray that you escape what is going to come upon the world that is the 7 year trib. Don't be left behind as this world and everything in it is not worth it. There will be no where to hide, with the state of technology that they have and also are improving on, you cannot hide, it will be very difficult and the worse time of one's life.

                  God Bless

Hiding from man is not the hard part. Hiding from God is impossible.
