  • What to Do if You Miss the Rapture

For those concerned, might I suggest printing this off and making a few copies at Kinko's to leave around the house?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    http://www.thekingiscoming.com/wtdiymtr.htm

"For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them who are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

Amazing words from the Word of God. But what do they mean? This passage foretells an amazing event we have come to call the Rapture of the Church. It is the time when God will take all living, believing Christians out of the Earth instantaneously:

"Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we all shall be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye..." 1 Corinthians 15:51

When will this amazing event take place? It will take place at the onset of a terrible 7-year period of time the Bible calls the Tribulation. During those gruesome days, over half the population of the world will die amidst wars, natural catastrophes, plagues, as the result of economic manipulation, and especially at the nefarious hand of an evil world ruler known in the Bible as the Antichrist.

Are we close to that event even now? Well, if you are a Christian, the answer is "Happily, yes!" The Bible is full of signs that indicate the approach of the Tribulation. Globalism, a united Europe, interlaced economies and mounting technology all point to the nearness of that time.

However if you are not a Christian, the answer for you is "Sadly, yes!" Sadly, because if you do not move quickly and come to believe in Jesus as Savior before the Rapture, you will be left behind after the Rapture to take your chances with the Antichrist and the world of his oppression. Your chances of survival will be less that 50/50, and most of those who will survive will be forced to join the new Satanic world economic system. But beware, the Bible says that joining that economic system (called the Mark of the Beast) will involve aligning yourself with the Antichrist, which will erase any chance you have to come to salvation.

But there is hope! Now, before the Rapture, you can believe on Jesus and become a Child of God. And even after the Rapture, you will have an opportunity to become a Tribulation Saint, enduring plagues and persecution, and probably being beheaded for the testimony of Christ.

As many of you who've known me for low these many years know - I disagree with the doctrine of "Second Chances" ... but alas, I can only hope I'm wrong.

Hopefully we can help get material out there because I imagine the websites and stuff will all be shutdown, at least by mid-trib. If I was in a different situation I'd keep the stuff up for several years but I think you can only do 2 years at a time with certain hosting companies. Printed material may be one of the few resources. That's also the great thing about those $1 Bibles. Pretty cheap way to sow the Word, even though not red-letter.

        Andy:

Would you explain why you dont think there will be second chances?

I remember reading the rapture passage in 2 Thessalonians once a long time back and thinking that in chapter 2 :9-13 it was telling me 'no second chances'. After the rapture and the coming of the lawless one, the signs and false miracles will be sent to deceive those who are perishing . They perish because they refused to love the truth and be saved. So God will send a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and be condemned as they did not believe the truth but delighted in wickedness.

So as I read this I thought of my husband who is not saved. I figured that he would see the rapture and realize that he had been a bonehead and give his life to the LORD and die in the tribulation trying to bring as many to salvation now that he had the truth. But this passage seems to tell me that he will be sent a strong delusion becuase he rejected the truth when he had the opportunity .

OK you will have to help me out with this one because I am not sure what you mean. Are you saying that after the rapture there is no chance to be saved?

Re: What to Do if You Miss the Rapture

I'm sorry, Wendy, maybe I shouldn't have said anything. Several years ago I did a study on the subject and created a document as a result of the study. I am NOT dogmatic about it - I can certainly be wrong but - the end result was, in MY mind, those that have clearly heard and rejected the gospel won't be given another chance after the rapture.

Again, I can certainly be wrong - and actually kinda hope I am. I, too, have unsaved loved ones.

Andy: I'd love to read that document too.

Someone posted that the things of earth grow strngely dim in the light of His face.

I klnow i have a wonderful but unsaved husband. I also am persuaded through scripture that second chances are a no go. but I also know of His grace and exceptions to most rules.

I have come to this philosphy regarding my unsaved, very much prayed for Husband: that I must continue to pray for him, leave him in the LORD's hands, live a Godly life in front of him, and keep my mouth shut most times.

I grieve for him going to hell, but when I am in heaven my tears will be gone and he will be where his decisions have taken him.

Like Wendyj and others here, my husband isn't saved either. I don't handle it very well. It's very much a struggle.

Uhh and Wendy, that keeping your mouth shut most of the time...would you mind giving me lessons on that one?

Andy, I remember your paper and disagreed with much of it. Maybe a dialogue would again be appropos. You did after all open this bucket of worms.

IMHO, those who have heard and rejected before the rapture would make the perfect candidates to be saved right after the rapture. They have heard the Word, know what to do, and who better to tell everyone else left behind how to get saved?!!!

Now, if someone says, "What about the 144,000?" Well, to me, they are for the nation of Israel. Someone else has to know about salvation to get to the rest of the masses.

There is nothing, that I can find, that changes salvation after the rapture. John 3:16 will be the same. Romans 10:9-10 will be the same. All the verses that point to salvation won't change, simply because the rapture happened and took out everyone who knew how to lead a person to the Lord.

As for me and my husband, whenever we travel we leave 100's of Chick tracts behind: in the rental car, in the hotel room (LOTS of places here to hide them!), give them to our servers at restaurants; in restrooms, in telephone booths, in the dispenser pick-up for sodas and snacks, etc., etc., etc. We pray over these that, if only one person gets saved by reading them, it will have been worth the effort to leave them behind.

As I said before, someone has to know how to accept salvation after the rapture and who better than someone you have already told?!?!?!?!!!!

                              Ok in this verse
                              In 1 Thessalonians 4

                              For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God;

Would you not think that everyone in the whole world will hear this "Shout"? Would it not be secret to the unbelievers? They will hear this shout and wonder what is going on and see all around them that many have disappeared before their eyes. It can't be secret w/ this Shout of the Lord and the Trump. Or can it?
I've only read of one 2nd coming in the word. Not a secret 2nd coming and then the 3rd which will be the last. But the Bible doesn't say a 3rd coming. If the Rapture does happen and I hope it does, the rapture will be the 2nd coming. I just can't recall Christ saying there will be a secret coming between the 1st and the 2nd. Just curious.
