NEW YORK (Petra) - The UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Wednesday adopted an initiative proposed by His Majesty King Abdullah.
His Majesty suggested the launch of “World Interfaith Harmony Week”, to be held during the first week of February every year. He made the proposal at the UNGA meetings in September this year.
HRH Prince Ghazi, King’s Special Adviser and Personal Envoy, yesterday presented the draft resolution on the initiative before the UNGA, noting that the initiative seeks to spread the message of interfaith harmony among the followers of the three monotheistic religions and different beliefs.
The resolution referred to the Common Word (kalimaton sawa) initiative, which is led by Prince Ghazi and which focuses on respecting others and casting away negative ideas towards the followers of the three religions and various beliefs.
