The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

  • Yom Kippur

Today, Yom Kippur, is the most solemn of God's Holy convocations(rehearsals of future events) . Some idioms for this day are:
    1. Day of Atonement
    2. Face to Face
    3. The Day (or the Great Day)
    4. The Fast
    5. The Great Shofar (Shofar HaGadol)
    6. Neilah (the closing of the gates)

This was the only day of the year that the High Priest was allowed to enter the Holy of Holies. This was the day the High Priest drew golden lots, and placed them on the heads of the two goats. One lot represented the Lord, and the other satan. According to tradition, the lot representing the Lord(Adonai) was always drawn by the right hand, except for the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple, when the Adonai lot was picked by the left hand. As a blind drawing, this was quite a miracle.
This right hand left hand thing is interesting. As my son pointed out today, Christ is at the right hand of the Father, and we are at the right hand of Christ. Therefore, He is holding our left hand.

At the end of the day, the Great Trumpet is sounded, and the gates of Heaven are closed, and The Book of Life is sealed.
