The Givat Olam umbrella organization confirmed for investors in Jerusalem on Monday the discovery of a large commercially-viable oil field in central Israel.
Seems to me this is a very tiny well, folks - just over 450 barrels a day at peak performance? I can't get very excited about this, unless I'm really missing it.
They had gas fields a few years ago, didn't they?
I thought they gave it (or were going to) to Arafat.
I'm with Andy on this, but only partially.
I"m wondering if there is a spoil in our definition of the word.
The spoil to them could simply be that Jews live in the area they want to be in.
As for Russia, sure there could be gas or oil, but I think they are tied to Iran somehow, we just haven't found out yet.
Unless he's supplying the Russian President and his cabinet with those snazzy gray suits he wears. Doesn't he own anything else? He's in charge for goodness sakes!
(how to do this without posting song lyrics … hummm )
Wow, black gold huh
That’s Texas tea
...
He’s coming back now, ya hear!
(couldn’t resist )
So many events could transpire to change the landscape, and so many have happened.

I’m a bit overloaded with the possibilities, there are just so many props on the stage now, whenever

That was my response as well. 450 barrels at 50 gallons/barrel is just 22500 gallons of crude. 450 barrels even at $100/barrel (which is way above the current price) is just $450,000. The Obamas spend that on breakfast.
