The largest sea in Central Asia has reportedly shrunk between 70 to 90 percent due largely to the influence of man. The Aral Sea used to be the world's fourth-largest lake, but it has shrunk drastically due largely to a Soviet project that diverted water from rivers that fed the Aral Sea.
