At least seven people, including some from Michigan, have been arrested in raids by a FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana as part of an investigation into an Adrian-based Christian militia group, a person familiar with the matter said.

The suspects are expected to make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Monday.

On Sunday, a source close to the investigation in Washington, D.C. confirmed that FBI agents were conducting activities in Washtenaw and Lenawee counties over the weekend in connection to Hutaree, a Christian militia group. Detroit FBI Special Agent Sandra Berchtold told The Detroit News the federal warrants in the case are under court seal and declined further comment.

Sources have said the FBI was in the second day of raids around the southeastern Michigan city of Adrian that are connected to a militia group, known as the Hutaree, an Adrian-based group whose members describe themselves as Christian soldiers preparing for the arrival and battle with the anti-Christ.

It's weird having just gotten done driving right by there less than an hour ago and finding this post. Since it was last evening, we didn't see anything. Probably wouldn't have if we were there at the time. Only thing I saw today that I thought unusual but didn't pay it any mind, were to state trooper cars running with no lights about 20 mph over the 70 mph limit.

I'll have to turn on the local news this evening and see what they have to say.

Issachar, thinking the true church doesn't need whatever publicity will come from such events.

These are some scary folks. Their material is freely available on the web. They openly declare that they are armed and dangerous. They also openly declare that they are very well organized.

I've read some of their stuff. Definitely not WeDG material

But I do like to know what 'others' are thinking. I haven't dumped my AARP membership, for instance, so I can keep tabs on what those guys are up to.

I’m not sure what to think. The raid was almost in my sister-in-law’s back yard. It’s a 30 acre back yard that ties into several hundred acres of wooded and swamp grounds. It’s a great place to hunt. That township has almost no zoning or development laws, so there are a number of “unusual” properties in that area. I live about 6 miles northwest and at about the same time some kid, we hope it was a kid, broke off our mailbox with 4x4 post and thru it through one of our bedroom windows. No one was in the room, or was hurt. We didn’t even know till daylight today. My wife couldn’t find the mail box. And there it was sticking out a bedroom window. Must have been a special kind of full moon in Adrian last night cus all the crazes were out.

lets see... now suspose an islamic group in a mosque was armed and making weekly threats twords Christians, Jews, -- would anything be done ???

wow Wes. I am very glad you're ok. But that has to be extremely unsettling ... let me know if you need a temporary refuge. I'm waiting to see if this craziness expands into anything else ..

No kidding! These are the sort that really concern me. There are others that don't use scripture. They're dangerous too. But it doesn't potentially affect the Christian reputation. Things are too crazy in this world anymore ...

Thanks Issachar, I’ll come a running is things get truly out of hand. I think or at least hope that was just a strange day. This next week I hope to put some feelers out and see if anything interesting turns up. I knew of two other groups operating in this area, now I know of three. For the most part, these people tend to stay to themselves; just don’t trespass. One member lives by some other relatives of mine. They have warned all of their neighbors of trespassing due to hidden booby traps. Another time, there was a very bright light in the midnight sky. That was followed by cops, rescue parties, helicopters, and all sorts on atvs running everywhere. It turned out that one of the youngsters had purchased a parachute flare from a gun show. There was a lot of talk afterwards, but not much action.

We think my problem was a misguided young attention seeker. I have two fairly good looking 18 year old girls. There are more than a few young men that don’t measure up as dating material in their view. And this looks like the action of a rejected young man. Too bad really as these actions don't say much for them or the times we live in.
