  • The probable Peace deal for Palestine

I recommend folks who are interested in developments in Israel become familiar with the contents of the appendices found at: http://www.geneva-accord.org/
In all probability this document (424 pages long) spells out in detail the negotiations for a two state solution in Israel/Palestine. I will make my comments on the Ezekiel 36 thread.

I have traveled 10 times through the region. On most occasions we have spent at least a few days in the West Bank, visiting sites associated with the original ancient nation of Israel but avoided by almost all commercial tour groups (eg Hebron, Elon Morea, Shiloh). This October a group of us are planning another trip to Israel and Jordan. We will be spending three days in the West Bank, and if things are "quiet" plan to get to Joseph's Tomb, Jacob's well at Shechem/Nablus, Joshua's Altar on Mount Ebal and a number of other sites that are almost impossible to visit. Your prayers would be appreciated, firstly for the Peace of Jerusalem, also for our trip details. Thanks. HSB

And don't forget king Abdullah's inter-religious summit in Geneva on Sept 30

Geneva Initiative unveils 'recipe' for Mideast peace

The initiative envisages an independent Palestinian state, with no army but with a strong security force. The Gaza Strip and the West Bank will be connected by a land corridor, which will be under Israeli sovereignty but with full Palestinian control.

An international force will be placed in Palestine to aid the two sides in implementing the agreement, and another international force will be stationed on the flashpoint Temple Mount- Haram al-Sharif compound in the heart of Jerusalem's Old City.

Sovereignty in the Old City of Jerusalem will be divided between Palestine and Israel and the two sides will redistribute their shared water.

The plan calls for the evacuation of one third of the 300,000 Israeli settlers in the West Bank, but also says that areas near Jerusalem containing large settlement blocks should be annexed to Israel, while Palestinians will receive territory adjacent to the Gaza Strip and along the south-west Israel-West Bank border.

"If and when peace talks are resumed, the negotiators will find our material a reliable guide on how to do things," former Israeli negotiator Yossi Beilin said

Re: The probable Peace deal for Palestine

CNAV: the Geneva Initiative report goes into great detail about how passport control stations will be built at border crossings, yet is totally silent on how 100,000 "settlers" are to be removed from West Bank towns, many of which are ancient Israel holy sites. There is no narrative in any of the appendices that I studied that gives any advice. Somebody is going to have to pull these folks out of their homes...they will not go willingly.

This has the makings of fulfilling "peace and security"???
It will be interesting to see "Jerusalem". So far I've only heard Bibi is willing to temporarily halt construction but refuses to hand it over. Insisting they keep it. And the world, at least so far, is willing to accept it to get the rest...for now.
            I keep praying lol
            Now where is the popcorn....
