Last night and this morning I kept thinking about the statement

then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them

plus the attitudes of the hearts. Comparing where they were then and where the world is now. It is such a perplexing statement.
Dependence on God and the belief we can do all things in our own strength. Even the unsaved world, at one time, would acknowledge "God willing" but now it is all about us.
In the church today it is all about what we can do and not what God can do for us.
Wow when was the last time I heard "God willing". I have to wonder if...

Has little to do with, what we actually can do but the attitude in the heart that we can, diminishing our acknowledged dependence on something or someone other then ourselves. Just some thoughts.

Very true. I think that there were smaller groups out of the whole that could understand each other after God confounded their language. That's why groups of people would go off together. What do you think?

Getting to core things here ... I don't know why ... just the night I guess ...

My reason in talking about the things I talk about ... i.e. economy, politics, human nature ... is not because I find it particularly interesting; especially the economics and politics part or that "when we're aware we can DO something about what's wrong in the world" or any of that ... but rather, to reveal how plain it is that there is nothing in or of this "world" that is worth hanging onto. It will all be burned up ... the elements will melt with a fervent heat and in the mean time, none of it satisfies.

I just had to run an errand across town and had a thought while driving ... It's not a new thought for me; just thought I'd add it here.

The kingdom of God is a "place" we are in when we're born again. We may have realization of it to varying degrees. It is dependent on the the renewing of the mind. Well, maybe more than that but that is as much as I understand it at present. As we sadly know, there are Christians all around the world that are persecuted daily, for their faith. We all have read (I hope) the testimonies of many that went through the suffering and even to their death but still maintained that Jesus is their Lord. Sometimes we hear of them raising up their arms in praise even as horrid things hurt them. I believe that they are experiencing the kingdom of God like no one else can in this world. As we have more and more taken from us in this crazy life, we trust more and more in our Lord; Jesus. We CAN reach a place of peace; a place of joy (not necessarily happy) that surpasses the understanding of the natural mind. It is God's grace.

Of course it will be a joy unspeakable when Christ sets up His kingdom and there is a new heavens and a new earth ..... however all that works.

For cryin' outloud, we usually can't even manage to build a healthy church anywhere let alone a whole kingdom.

Soooooo the remnant wouldn't have anything to do with a kingdom here on earth because we only belong to one kingdom the Kingdom of our Lord.

It certainly couldn't have been the tower as He knew that would be a joke but the fact they became one with a kingdom????????

Actually ... yes. As usualy though; I could be wrong or at least partly wrong. I certainly do not see much, compared to what there is to see. Again imVho, Christians don't need to build a kingdom; even on Christian ideals. I say that because I believe God's kingdom is already built .. already exists .. as evidenced by the scriptures I posted. At least, that was my intent by posting them and encouraging further reading of them in context. But doing our Father's will, a bit of that kingdom is being manifested. In due time; His time, it will be fully manifested.

1 Corinthians 13:
10 *But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 *When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 *For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Romans 14:

I know some Christians that have this notion that we (believers) are to build the kingdom of God on the earth and when it is done, Christ will return to rule and reign in that kingdom. That gets into the whole 'kingdom now' theology and the so called 'apostolic and prophetic restoration movement' and a lot of heresy. Men are not meant to build the kingdom of God. For cryin' outloud, we usually can't even manage to build a healthy church anywhere let alone a whole kingdom.

ImVho, there are only two kingdoms. The kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of the Son.

Colossians 1:

If born once, one is a citizen of the kingdom of darkness, whose lord is the devil and if dead in Christ and raised with Christ ... that is, born twice, one is a citizen of the kingdom of light.

Of course there is much more on this matter of light and dark in the scriptures and I always encourage folks to read any scriptures I post to read them in context.

Since the fall of man, when he took on a sin nature; a nature that is inherently selfish, men have continuously attempted to build kingdoms on varying premises ... all of them are in darkness. That is because there is only one kingdom of light; the kingdom of God. And His kingdom, at this time, is not visible on the earth in the sense that many imagine a kingdom.

John 18:36 *Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Or even when you try to build a kingdom on Christian prinicipal or ideals it does as Wesley stated.....
And the Lord said, Behold the people is one, and they have all one language - And if they continue one, much of the earth will be left uninhabited, and these children of men, if thus incorporated, will swallow up the little remnant of God's children, therefore it is decreed they must not be one. And now nothing will be restrained from them - And this is a reason why they must be crossed, in their design.

Is it the leadership we would allow???? Is it even the fact we would be arrogant enough to think to could build it without Him???
