  • Senator McCain Says Obama Respects Constitution

I'm fairly sure that John McCain here is trying to be a "gentleman", but he needs to find a way to do that but say truth.

What Congress needs ... if it's ever going to happen ... is a Christian man that will stand up in the Congressional Chambers and in a very concise, straightforward manner, declare the truth to all of Congress. Let them know of God's judgement on sin. Let the chips land .....

    Issachar
The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken - dylan

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

And he was booed for that statement. He is just being too polite or a little blinded like he was in the campaign.

Probably both, his campaign seemed to have no direction.

McCain should have been booed. It was one of the dumbest statements he's ever made.

Imho, McCain prevericated all through the campaign. Although I supported him, reluctantly, it made me sick. He is just way too politically correct.

Well GH, you had me clicking on my dictionary this time.

Prevaricated: Be deliberately ambiguous or unclear in order to mislead or withhold information.

              Very true.

Thank you for looking that word up Issachar, I was just wondering where my dictionary was.

I thought the McCain town hall went rather well. I agreed with the one women that said that she wished that McCain had won the Presidency. But now I wonder if ANYTHING would be any different.

Seems like being elected President has nothing to do with regular folks voting, but people with big money, corporations, and special interest groups. Whatever interest group or corporation gives the most to a candidate, then that candidate returns the favor and puts some of their people in the White House.

So who really is running the country?

If you're going to be pulling the curtain back a bit to look behind it, be prepared to be surprised.

Hey Issachar, I live in Illinois, nothing surprises me, lol.

You should hear them talk about the possibility of hosting the Olympic Games here and who gets to choose who is going to do all the construction work and oversee everything. The ABC news people can hardly keep a straight face when they mention the word "nepotism" (sp?) they know how corrupt our state is and they just roll their eyes or have a smirk on their faces because they really can't come out a say what we are all thinking. They are already talking about a friend of a friend, who has a cousin who has a friend who owes a favor to, etc. You got to love Chicago politics.

Paul pulled the curtain back for us almost 2000 years ago:
Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

So very true John. Good scripture application.

                          You are so right John.

I had to pull out my Bible because I knew I had some notes that I think I wrote down from Harvest Reno.org about this verse. So let me share what Pastor Steve said..., his words will be in parenthesis.

Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers (Demons in charge of regions or countries), against the authorities (Demons in charge of individual people), against the powers of this dark world (demons in charge of the worldly system, ie: news, media, culture), and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (False religions)

Kind of scary when it's broken down like this. This makes it clearer to see the battle that is raging on in our White House.

For support you might also look at Dan 10 and the struggle of the angel coming to Daniel against the "Prince of Persia".

Re: Senator McCain Says Obama Respects Constitution

JohnR, earlier today you posted this verse:

Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

I have been thinking about that all day today since you posted it. I know it's true because it is the Word of God. I've thought about it a lot over the years. I've taught on that a lot over the years. It is even a part of the core of my world view concerning politics and economics. But there is something about today's thinking on it, that has hit me like no time in the past. Then a few minutes ago I started watching the Glenn Beck 8/27 thread videos. Those first 4 people talking in the part 2 of 5 video really struck me. They struck me as being at least mostly sincere in what they were saying. It made me think even more about how real that verse above is. Even though I think it is scary, I've have often considered how humans, outside of Christ, behave. There is something that can trigger a group; or a whole society, into a mob. When that happens ... and I've always thought that was a 'spiritual' issue ... reason and truth and rationality are so far out the window that it isn't funny. Very dangerous and very sad things happen at that point. Probably through some psychology voodoo there are men who can whip a crowd into a frenzy and get that crowd to act in a certain manner or with a certain focus. But it is really, imho, the devil working through the instigator. Or maybe it's some sort of a joint effort .. I don't know. But there's just something about today and especially tonight, in conjunction with that scripture you posted this morning that has me in prayer mode big time. All this to say ... I believe it was our Lord that prompted you to post that. Like I said, the verse is certainly not new to me, but I think what our heavenly Father is showing me through it, tonight, is significant.

Issachar, eyes and ears open ...
