PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island will shut down its state government for 12 days and hopes to trim millions of dollars in funding for local governments under a plan Gov. Don Carcieri outlined Monday to balance a budget hammered by surging unemployment and plummeting tax revenue.

The shutdown will force 81 percent of the roughly 13,550-member state work force, excluding its college system, to stay home a dozen days without pay before the start of the new fiscal year in July.

Just one of many that are going down the tube. Pennsylvania now becoming like California and extremely cutting like never before. NY taxing everything that moves and making it totally impossible for anyone to live there. Our country is sliding down the slippery slope and it's real sad.

I don't know what they would want everyone to do, many really good people will become hostile just to put food on their tables and a roof over their head for their family and people will get desperate and things will get real ugly.

Pay the bills off and save the best way we can and know God is with us and we will do well. Christians who have, will have to help those who don't that's the bottom line that may be coming.
