  • The Great Pyramid

Many people have wondered who built the Great Pyramid in Giza and why?

“In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof... And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt.” —Isaiah 19:19-20

Can this be true? We will know in the next couple of months.

Egypt's architects honored their pagan god, Satan, who gave power to their magicians to turn rods into snakes. This is no temple to the God of Israel; Who destroyed Pharoah and his armies.

The time of the altar in Egypt has not come yet. This is deliverance after Armageddon.

may have been built before the flood by the sons of Seth.... the water action erosion on the Sphinx certainly indicates it went through the flood..

The most traditional view is that the Sphinx is 4500 years old. That would be about 500 years after the flood. Assuming it was 1000 years (almost) after Adam and Eve. I'd have to set down and go through the timelines of Genesis 5 to be more accurate than that though.

do to the scarcity of records, ""traditional views"" on the dating of objects or events are going to be highly questionable..... the date of the exodus held by secular scholars is more than 100 years later than the Biblical date of 1 Kings 6:1 for example..... some want to link the Exodus date with the time of the Santorini/Theira eruption--others want to date it at the time of Joseph....... the Bible puts that eruption midway in the Hebrews 400 years in Egypt......The surviving ancient records dating the Pyramids and Sphinx vary greatly......some even think that another name for Cheops the Pyramid builder was Seth of the Bible........

I'll continue holding my judgment on this. The pyramid is the only structure that has a chief cornerstone, or capstone. The chief cornerstone rightly frames and completes the entire structure. The chief cornerstone is in the way of the builders (it's a stumbling block), until the rest of the work is complete. To me, it's a good parallel of the Church.
Is it possible that Joseph had it built?

After he rose to power in Egypt? I should think not. Too pagan. Burial tomb of pharoahs and all their false gods.

People always ask how the pyramids got built. Well, when you have 50,000 slaves and you don't care if they live or die while you work them to death, you can accomplish a lot. Such were the godless pharoahs of Egypt.
