After reading this, I thought what if the US does say "We have had it. We quit."

This would allow the Russians and the Muslim nations to prepare to take the

West Bank form Israel, and make a two state solution.

I don't believe Ez 38 will start this way. Rather, I believe there will be some significant event to precipitate the Russian-led invasion, such as an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran, or an Israeli oil discovery along with a collapse of Russian oil production. But an invasion only because the US pulls away its support of Israel doesn't seem plausible.

I think it may be a combination of the two, if the US steps aside and
"washes its hands" of the mideast and Israel strikes Iran and possibly
Syria then you could see a Russian led invasion.
