  • Pat Robertson just predicted

said God told him the economy would recover by 2nd quarter, stock market would recover, Israel will fight and be condemned (gee how hard is that) and that the Obama Presidency will appear to work at first as America embraces gov't-owned socialism.

He admits the economic things are in opposition to what the experts say.

I say the time is most dangerous world-wide the next 18 days, even in relation to America. I may be wrong but we shall see.

I predict (not by God) that the housing market will be much worse in 9 months. More than double bankruptcies, foreclosures and a glut of houses even more so than today. New home construction will go way down, IMHO. Loans, not yet available too much, to new buyers mean very little to folks without jobs. You and your wife cannot buy a $180,000 on $10/hr wages each. Way too low to qualify and they want 10% to 20% down.

... and that would be our encouraging word for the day...

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

LOL - IMHO, Robertson is biased by his political views and what he wants to happen as I've listened to much of this stuff for about 20 years from him (off and on). In 1992 or so, he said you were far better off to rent a house than to buy. Not true and the 90's were very prosperous.

18 days until Obama would take office ................. hang on to your hats, IMHO

And Pat continues to spew false prophecy in the Lord's Name. It isn't like he doesn't do this every year and almost always gets it wrong. You would think people would wise up and stop listening to him.

            Argh....

I am not willing to label Robertson a false prophet because I do believe he loves the Lord. However, this man is speaking from his flesh as he has proven over and over again....and I don't see how anyone would take him seriously...

Pat who? Does anyone take him seriously anymore?

                Re: Pat Robertson just predicted

The economy will improve in the second quarter? Really? So he is buying as much stock at bargain basement prices so he can sell at high prices later? Hmm. Anybody have some swamp land you can sell? I think the second quarter looks worse than the first.

I think that's a very good way of putting it. Speaking from the flesh.

                    Re: Pat Robertson just predicted

Pat did say that he prayed to God and he felt as though this was what God was showing him. He also said that if these things did not come to pass that it was his fault, not God's, and that he (Pat) could be wrong. He never says "thus saith The Lord," but rather that these are the impressions that he felt God had given him. I don't see what the big deal is.

                      Re: Pat Robertson just predicted

I remember a time where I thought Pat R. was a man who loved God, too.
I sent a hundred dollars to his "life flight" campaign back in the early nineties.
I thought that the money was going to be put to good use, like spreading the Gospel to villages in Africa, but sadly, he spent the money moving his diamond mining equipment from one place to another.

I haven't believed one word out of his lips since.

I certainly don't hate Pat so let me be sure I'm not giving that impression. I just question some of his predictions.

He did say that he thinks Gog-Magog may be on the horizon and that's a conclusion we've all pretty much reached. He didn't set a date for it as near as I can recall, which is good.

Umm...I thought that if anyone says, "Thus saith the Lord" and the prophecy does not come to pass, that person is a false prophet regardless of what else is going on in his/her life.

                          Am I incorrect?

It's been a coon's age since I listened to his show but it sure seems I remember him saying he was speaking on behalf of what God told him. Perhaps this isn't the case?

Today they said he goes off by himself to pray and that he believes this is what the Lord was telling him.

Of course that stands in stark contrast to what I thought I was told but it was unsolicited on my end and out of the blue. I could be wrong but there is history. I consider it very possible (and quite likely) I misread but we shall see.
