My question is if the goverment takes over everything that is in
financial trouble, will they not be expected to take over the automobile
    manufactors and airlines?

Interesting . . . the market has lost most of the gains it made yesterday.

What happened to the party? Are people beginning to realize the true nature of the problem?

There are rumors that Wamu may need a bailout soon too. The auto makers want someone to write them a check too.

Billions to Iraq, a billion to Georgia, billions to Pakistan, billions in foreign aid, billions in wasteful spending, etc.

Goverment is worse than a 16 year old with a credit card and unlimited balance.

I don't know if you all are familiar with the web bots and their predictions, but here is a post regarding their latest run.

      Re: The Web Bots
Fellow Texan George Ure's buddy Cliff whom heads up the Web Bot Project was on the Jeff Rense Radio Show on September 2. Here are a few important topics Cliff spoke about that the Web Bots have uncovered:

The Web Bots see September 22-27, 2008 as precursor dates to the main turning point date of October 7, 2008. Closely watch events during September 22-27, 2008 for hints as to what to expect on October 7, 2008.

Cliff said whenever "it" happens, and whatever "it" turns out to be, "it" will be a date in history you remember like 9/11, we will remember 10/7.

The Web Bots foresee that October 7, 2008 to February 19, 2008 will be filled with emotional intensity, and the length of the release period will be extraordinary. The Web Bots have never picked up any event lasting this long. In comparison, 9/11 length lasted about 10 days. This event will be four months of high emotion.

The Web Bots foresee consumer society collapsing by mid November 2008.

The Web Bots foresee a West Coast/Vancouver area large scale earthquake around December 12, 2008.

The Web Bots foresee that the Winter in the Northeast will be very cold this Winter, causing some schools to close, and then later to reopen as shelters for people who can't heat their homes. Language suggests that the shortage will either be caused by supply, cost of fuel, or both.

      --

There is NOTHING going on in Georgia except some sabre rattling between the US and Russia right now. The Bots didn't miss it. So far it's been a non-event.

However if there's going to be something around 10/7 that leaves us in an emotional state like the 10 days after 9/11 and it continues for four months, then it's going to be something pretty friggin' major. A limited nuclear exchange? A really major quake big enough to destroy LA or SF? Tsunami hitting the eastern seaboard of the US? Alien ships showing up and threatening us? The second coming of Christ (blue beam version maybe?) What else can you think of that could put the world in a emotional state like after 9/11 yet have it last for four months? Remember the world watched the twin towers go down on 9/11 complete with numerous people jumping off the roof and out the windows on national and international TV. And that put the world on an emotional edge for ten days at the most.

Their past predictions have been mostly wrong! Although I agree things are getting more "tense" out there.

I have to wonder if Iss hit the nail on the head. Wall street are capitalist. The rise was because they had the comfort of believing the government was going to bail out everyone, saving their jobs.
However I have to wonder if they have thought about the fact ...

          As Iss has stated.
Plus, some time ago I saw a report on the news were they went out and talked to stock brokers etc. The common belief was, it could never happen in the US. But with the reality of..

Re: Lehman sinks as much as 40 percent on capital worry

Personally, I believe that the one world order will be some form of a fascist state. I have believed for a long time that it would be socialist. I'm changing that to fascist with an element of socialism. The more I see private industry and banking going in the dumper and being taken over by the federal government, the more I'm thinking that.

Fascist governments nationalized key industries and made massive state investments. They also introduced price controls, wage controls and other types of Soviet-style economic planning measures. Property rights and private initiative were contingent upon service to the state. Fascists promoted their ideology as a "third way" between capitalism and Marxian socialism.
            from

I thought that the use of "third way" in the above quote was fascinating. I have read quite a lot on the "third way" in past years and sort of put it on the back burner until I started seeing all these institutions being taken over by the federal government.

The Third Way, or Radical center, is a centrist political philosophy of governance that embraces a mix of market and interventionist philosophies. The Third Way rejects both socialism and laissez-faire approaches to economic governance, but chiefly stresses technological development, education, and competitive mechanisms to pursue economic progress and governmental objectives.[1] Third way philosophies have been described as a synthesis of capitalism and socialism by its proponents.[2] One of its central aims is to protect the modern welfare state through reforms that maintain its economic integrity.[3]

Past invocations of a political 'third way' have included the Fabian Socialism, Distributism, Keynesian economics, Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, and Harold Macmillan's 1950s One Nation Conservatism.[4] A "Third Way" approach has been adopted by some social democrats and social liberals in many Western liberal democracies.[5] While it was pioneered in the 1980s in Australia by the Hawke/Keating Labor governments,[6] the most recent prominent examples are the Clinton Administration in the United States as well as presidential candidate Hillary Clinton[7], the Labour Party (New Labour) governments of the United Kingdom under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, the Liberal Party government of Canada under Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin as well as then-prime ministerial candidates Michael Ignatieff and Stephane Dion, the Australian Labor Party under Kevin Rudd and Mark Latham and the Polder Model in The Netherlands.
            more

Something I've read a lot about also in past years is the Fabian Society and Fabian Socialism. I believe it permeates the U.S. government now through various people and laws. Not to worry though, they have our best interests at heart.

If interested, do some searching for some of the various terms presented here and see what you come up with. I think that all this "nationalizing" that is going on is the forming of an eventual fascist state. Mussolini would be jealous of the tools available now through technology and globalism if he could know what is happening now.

Hmm you are jogging my memory here Iss. As recall we all knew Blair was "Third Way" and that was part of the stunning part when Bush and Blair were on the same page right from the beginning and still are.

There some interesting phrase in the above URL. Interesting because there are things we see around us in North America.
I remember Arafat Peres and Blair were all members of the Socialist Assoc at the same time but this article states..
Third Way (Palestinian Authority), a minor centrist Palestinian political party.

Re: Lehman sinks as much as 40 percent on capital worry

Two men are shown smashing down on a globe of the world with two large hammers. The globe rests upon an anvil. Above the globe can be seen the inscription that reads:

"REMOULD IT NEARER TO THE HEART'S DESIRE"

The saying is from a stanza of Omar Khayyam:

“Dear love, couldst thou and I with fate conspire
To grasp this sorry scheme of things entire,
Would we not shatter it to bits,
And then remold it nearer to the heart's desire!” [5]

Above the globe is a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing. Below subjects kneel in reverence, all except one whom seems to be mocking the others. H.G. Wells also made an interesting statement shedding some light on just what the Society believed in:

"This idea of a planned world-state is one to which all our thought
and knowledge is tending ... It is appearing partially and experimentally at a
thousand points ... its coming is likely to happen quickly."
                    More

The Fabian window - lost for more than 25 years - was unveiled by the prime minister Tony Blair today (Thursday 20 April) during the centenary year of the Labour Party in its new home, the Fabian-founded London School of Economics and Political Science.

The stained glass window was designed by George Bernard Shaw in 1910 as a commemoration of the Fabian Society, and shows fellow Society members Sidney Webb and ER Pease, among others, helping to build 'the new world'.

Now, after a fascinating history, the window is finding a home in the heart of London at LSE, the social science university institution founded by Sidney Webb, Beatrice Webb and Shaw in 1895.

May not be connected but that phrase has also been used in Christian circles. Some of the visions mentioned ""thousand points of light" .
Sometimes it was interrupted as bombs or fires but sometimes as works of God.
Just thought I would mention it.

This book is something that would require a long time to read, but I have read parts of it. It is a part of the reason why I have mentioned now and then that those who would construct a NWO; a one world order, hide their work in plain sight.
