Ants swarm over Houston area, fouling electronics

DALLAS (AP) - In what sounds like a really low-budget horror film, voracious swarming ants that apparently arrived in Texas aboard a cargo ship are invading homes and yards across the Houston area, shorting out electrical boxes and messing up computers.

This is actually quite scary, folks. This is only the beginning and if they are resistant to standard bug-killers, I have a feeling this could very easily get out of hand, very quickly. I like that they eat fire ants; a real and growing problem, but they are also very destructive.

BTW, if you've ever been bitten by a swarm of fire ants it's something you'll not quickly forget. MAN that hurts!!

Remember when God sent ants as a judgement on the ?philistines to drive them out during Joshua's campaign. I remember very poorly the details but it makes me wonder.

I saw a nature show with a monkey(?) I think that ate, I believe, fire ants, or some sort of ants. He would shove a stick into a tree, the ants would crawl on the stick, he'd pull it out and slurp them off. Then repeat the process.

hairy, reddish-brown creatures are known as "crazy rasberry ants

ROFL My husband was talking about these "crazy ants" tonight. I really thought he was kidding.
