The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

  • Wright defends controversial remarks

WASHINGTON (BP)--Barack Obama's longtime pastor Jeremiah Wright sought to explain two of his more controversial statements during an April 25 interview on PBS' "Bill Moyers Journal" and also defended his association with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

The interview was the first of a series of public appearances by Wright, who spoke at an NAACP meeting in Detroit Sunday and at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Monday.

Wright's appearance before the National Press Club was described as "defiant" by the Associated Press. During a question-and-answer session with reporters, Wright, the retiring pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, answered a question about his patriotism by saying, according to AP, "I served six years in the military. Does that make me patriotic? How many years did [Vice President ****] Cheney serve?"

                  Re: Wright defends controversial remarks

                  Wright's most dangerous comment
DALLAS (BP)--On Monday, Pastor Jeremiah Wright had the following exchange with the moderator at the National Press Club:

MODERATOR: "Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the father but through me.' Do you believe this? And do you think Islam is a way to salvation?"

WRIGHT: "Jesus also said, 'Other sheep have I who are not of this fold.'"

Wright's response clearly implies that Muslims are among the "other sheep" to which Jesus refers in John 10:16. Thus Wright affirms that people who do not have conscious faith in Christ can nevertheless have the hope of salvation -- an inclusivist position that argues there are many paths to God.

There are two questions that need be addressed: (1) Did Jesus intend to include non-believers in the group called "other sheep"? (2) What difference does it make? Let's take a look.

Put Wright where he wants to be: in the national spotlight
                    By George Will
                    The Washington Post

WASHINGTON -- Because John McCain and other legislators worry that they are easily corrupted, there are legal limits to the monetary contributions that anyone can make to political candidates. There are, however, no limits to the rhetorical contributions that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright can make to McCain's campaign.

Because Wright is a gift determined to keep on giving, this question arises: Can persons opposed to Barack Obama's candidacy justly make use of Wright's invariably interesting interventions in the campaign? The answer is: Certainly, because Wright's paranoias tell us something -- exactly what remains to be explored -- about his 20-year parishioner.

Well, that cinches it. Wright is a false prophet and not a Christian pastor.

                      Thanks for posting.

That's the question and comment that I heard when I was watching it.

I knew it was bad when I heard it.

Also confirms that my hearing is not totally shot.

                          Re: Wright defends controversial remarks

I'm really glad Jesus is shining His Light. He is the Light and the Truth. He is shining His Light and Truth into the lives and hearts of those who call themselves pastors of God's flock, which is the ultimate responsibility and should only humble a person.

It seems Jesus is calling so-called Christian leaders to accountability and integrity to the Word of God... that they may hopefully repent.

We need to recognize those who are wolves in sheep's clothing and are not true Disciples and true Followers of Christ.

Thank you, Jesus, for only You are given the authority to judge and only you can reveal the Truth in light of Your Word.

Apart from you we can do nothing, Lord, and even we are deceived by false pastors unless You point them out for us. You said everything will be laid bare, and every evil work done in secret will be exposed and shouted from the roof tops.

That sure sounds like our Internet and Television, don't it?

There is till the possiblity that Obama is a Manchurian Candidate. Pastor Wright may totally sand bag Obama. After that, the opponents may bring up his ties to Odinga and the PA group that "mourns" the nakba. Is is possible that if Barack H Obama makes to the finals that Hillary and Bill will be so enraged that they while turn against him?
