The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

  • Baptist Mormons / Catholic Mormons ? ? ?

Religious scholar John Walsh . . . said he also studies the mainstream Mormon church, which renounced polygamy a century ago and has no ties to the FLDS. He said without the polygamy aspect, the FLDS would resemble the Baptist or Catholic religions.
Yup, you read it just like it's printed at http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/04/18/...ody/index.html - oh, well, that's CNN for ya.

About 2/3 down the page for the quote!

Here's where I **support** DNA evidence (I'm not anti-science). Not because it's Biblical Scripture in question. But because it proves that the American Indians are not Jews. And that's the end of the book of mormon right there. As if additional evidence needed to be made after all the silly claims; i.e. Jesus returning to Independence, Missouri or Salt Lake City, Utah instead of Jerusalem, Israel. The Garden of Eden in Missouri, rather than the Middle East.

Obviously the writer does not know what he is talking about. Baptist/Mormon----now that is what I would call an oxymoron.

I'm friends now with a guy who works at a local convenience store. He is RLDS and we've discussed much of it to no avail. We still remain friends but I don't try to broach the subject at this point. Re: the book of mormon anyways.

I don't know how to sway him so I backed way off on it.

I once peered into the eyes of a Mormon girl and all I saw were two eyes the color of coal.

Hehe. That statement made me think of the gal who took over for Melissa McDermott on the CBS Up-to-the-Minute news (overnight), Meg Oliver. They've softened her appearance now through makeup. She's very pretty but when she first came on she had the blackest eyes of anyone I've ever seen. I was trying to figure out if she had contacts in that did that or what..

I just remember being taken aback at first. I'm sure she's a nice lady, but I don't think I can find a pic of those early shows. It must have been contacts because it was quite noticeable. Here is a pic of Meg Oliver.

I interact with Mormons all the time at work, CS. It's interesting that over the years I've only met ONE that could/would openly discuss end times Bible prophesy from a perspective that was anywhere close to our perspective. I generally get something of a "deer in the headlights" look (regardless of eye color) if I try to steer a conversation to what we know as 'prophesy.'

The guy I mentioned beforehand is into Mayan calendar / Bilderbergs / an obscure internet "prophecy" about America, etc. etc. etc.

I told him about dividing Israel. He wanted to know where he could read about that in the Bible. I gave him a printed web page from some kooky Bible Prophecy website (*cough* *cough*) regarding Israel.

It continually amazes me (because I lead such a sheltered life) that maybe 1 out of 25,000 people have even the tiniest clue.

Yep. I'd say very few know. Are we wasting our time? Sometimes I wonder ...

I worked with a Mormon once for about 3 years 15 years ago. He was one of the nicest, sharpest, energetic, and disciplined person I every known. He was a devoted Mormon. I was always a little suspicious of him in the fact that very subtly he was always trying to promote Mormonism. He taught a course at work “ 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Steven Covey under the pretext of improving work productivity and quality (at least that was my suspicions). I only had one conversation with him about religion. I quickly let him know that Jesus Christ was my Lord and Saviour and my God. He said they had a little ( ha, ha) different belief. I did not pursue the issue any further because I just did not feel the leading of the Holy Spirit to do so. I did pray his eyes would be opened which reminds me I need to put him back on my pray list.

Yes, this book was brought into a company I was at, by a mormon, and not accidentally, I'm sure, the Franklin Planner. Both are mormon products, essentially. Stephen Covey, as I last recall, was mormon.

We recently had some Mormon neighbors who my wife and I grew close too. Unlike other Mormans I have met they were almost embarassed by what they believed....

I honestly believe that demons possess many a Mormon. Example: I was in Staples last year making photocopies and these two young men came into the store wearing white shirts, neck ties and black pants. I immediately glanced over at them, smiled and said "You're Mormon missionaries". One of them replied "You're a Christian?" Now, why would he say that to me, a Chinese guy in a Western Hemisphere city?

                              -----------

Most Mormons aren't afraid to publicly proclaim their faith and talk about Joseph Smith, Brigham Young unlike many believers who fear being labeled a "Christian". The Devil's own don't fear public ridicule. Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses work tirelessly day and night proselyting (sp).
