The End of MWM
Greetings all,
Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.
Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.
What a glorious day that will be.
In Christ alone,
Andy

Yes, Barack Hussein Obama surely received a much needed boost when he garnered Oprah's support. By the way, LaVar Burton was Lt. Cmdr. Geordi Laforge of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I was talking to a girl yesterday, that my niece brought home for Easter.
Apparently you can rent college students for holidays.
She was talking about her English class, and how they were talking about Oprah, and empowering women.
My mother likes Oprah for who knows why, and was wondering what book they had chosen to discuss.
Apparently it's many books, one of them is the Secret(?).
I told the girl (I never got her name, I know how rude of me!) that being empowered as a woman or a person is great. But you need to focus on the direction you are going.
I'm not sure she understood what I was talking about, and actually I think she thinks I'm against women empowering themselves. Do I look like Archie Bunker to you?
I know these people are bombarding students with their agenda, I have no doubts about that.
I just hope my niece has the sense to know this is all
fake.
Given my sister's reaction to what her friend said, I'm sure she will find out.
My sister knows all too well what Oprah is about, and that she's a new ager.

The "world" loves to set up idols for itself and follow whatever they say. Although a tee vee is nothing more than an assemblage of electronic parts, for some reason, if someone is on the thing, so many think that someone is great. "Ohhhhh ... you're that person on the tee vee! Can I have your autograph??!!" sheeesssshhh .... Same with anyone who is on stage. It seems that if one is in entertainment, they're idolized. Can you imagine someone walking up to a person and saying, "Oh MY!! You're that guy that does welding! Can I have your autograph??!!" Or imagine a book being promoted; "And today's guest is the author of number one on the New York Best Seller List whose book has sold over 11 million copies in the first week; Plumbing For The Average Household Owner, Marvin Hillman! Let's give a big hand for Marvin!!!" (aplause ...)
Nope. Won't happen. Too practical.

Just what those with itching ears want to hear, sadly.
2 Timothy 4:3 (New International Version)
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Oprah's New Age Teachings Online 500,000 sign up 10 week course
This past Monday Oprah Winfrey, considered by many to be the world's most influential woman, began a ten-week long online course on the best-selling book, "A New Earth," by New Age guru, Eckhart Tolle. "A New Earth" has already sold some 3.5 million copies worldwide, thanks largely to the publicity given to it by Oprah. According to Oprah, 500,000 people from across the world signed on to the first segment of the online course, to spend an hour and a half listening to Ekhart and Oprah talking about chapter 1 of the book, and taking calls from participants. In recent years Oprah has been inviting an increasing number of representatives of new age spirituality onto her talk shows, including figures such as Marianne Williamson, Barbara DeAngelis, LaVar Burton, Richard Carlson, Betty Eadie, and many others. Oprah has strongly endorsed many of their works, and has included some of them in her "Book Club" list. Since the beginning of this year Oprah has offered daily classes on her XM radio station on the book "A Course in Miracles." "A Course in Miracles" (or ACIM for short) was written by another major player in the New Age movement, Helen Schucman, who claims that the book was dictated to her by an interior voice, which she identifies with Jesus Christ. In that course, the listener is taught that there is no sin, is told not to make the "mistake" of "clinging to the old rugged cross," and that the name of "Jesus Christ as such is but a symbol."
