Yes, Genesis clearly states that Eden's river flowed out to the Tigris and the Euphrates and two other rivers.

Most Bible scholars hold that to be the land of Shinar; Iraq as you say.

This is a common belief of the orthodox Jews, their are many 'traditions' in the Talmud which really have no basis on fact.
What evidence if any, did he give?
I always pictured Eden in what is today Iraq, of course the worlds land mass is different today.

Saw this on Perry Stone last night - was flipping channels so I didn't see the whole thing.
