The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

  • the same Spirit

    Acts 2:1-4 (NIV):
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
On the day of Pentecost, the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit. The second chapter of Acts continues with a moving sermon by Peter, ending with this culmination in Acts 2:40-41 (NIV):
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
This is the same Peter who had taken his eyes off of Jesus and started to sink in the lake. This is the same Peter who drew his sword and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his ear. And this is the same Peter who only weeks before had denied Christ three times.

So what made such a difference on that fateful day? The Holy Spirit, of course!! What would Peter have done that day if the Holy Spirit had not come? I bet he would have stayed in that house where he was sitting. I bet he would have been afraid to share the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. I bet nothing much would have happened.

The spirit which filled Peter that day and worked through him to lead nearly three thousand people to Christ is the same Spirit who enabled Paul to speak the truth boldly everywhere he went. It is the same Spirit who energizes the Reverend Billy Graham as he tells countless thousands of their sin and their need for a savior.

Brothers and sisters, if you have accepted the truth of Christ and placed your trust in Him, then this is the same Spirit that coarses through your veins right now. God did not ask you to serve Him on your own. He has given you a great Spirit to aid you in this quest. In fact, no offense, but you really cannot do anything to serve God apart from His Holy Spirit.

Ask the Lord to fill you with His Holy Spirit today.
