    Re: A Huge Economic Sign????

For about the last month, I've noticed at my bank a notice telling people that due to fraud, they are now reducing the amount you are able to withdrawl from your account on a daily basis.

Hummmmm, this is all very interesting. I do keep a bit of cash on hand and on Tuesday I was going to do a deposit, I think instead I'll try cashing all the checks I have and see if I can get cash from my bank.

All she would say is, "You will find out on Tuesday. You will be notified."
(Adjusting tinfoil). El presidente will announce the Amero is replacing the dollar on Tuesday, open the borders and attack Iran.

(well, I don't know - but I DO want to know if something of significance happens on Tuesday).

Our bank, Washington Mutual, has had a sign posted on the drive up window for a couple of months now that $3000 is the maximum withdrawal allowed without coming into the bank.... I haven't thought much of that. Don't know if there are limits inside or not.

Oh, there are. Most folk don't realize that if only about 4% of the American people wanted to withdraw their money from the banks, that it would collapse the whole house of cards. Probably 2-3% would do it. But that won't happen because the banking system won't allow it. Do some reading on "fractional reserve banking" and see why. It is a big part of the whole scheme to create "money" out of nothing. Fractional reserve banking, compound interest and fiat money creation are, together, why a fiat system will inherently fail. When it is understood how it works, one sees that it cannot go on forever. "Natural" systems can, such as free enterprise .. even in various forms, but a fiat system cannot.

My bank, which is the 3rd largest in the state, has had a $500 maximum withdrawal through the drive-thru for 20 years or so. Although I'd like to see up to $1000 this has never been too much of a problem for me.

I am all in favor of this Bobby. Presidente Calderon can change from the Dollar to the Amero. No problemo. He is certainly welcome to open up the border and welcome all the prodigal Mexicans back home. And, hey, if Mexico wants to go per-emptive on Iran, more power to 'em.

That's happened to us recently with a Chase card and a Home Depot Master Card......both are commercial accounts. Both have very large credit allowances, ($40K each) but we very seldom go over $2000 if that much and pay in full whatever we've spent every month..... but yeah, and very wierd notifications, etc. Not logical. Freezing of an account and you having to call them to find out why....and the result being that the account "may have been compromised.........."
                    Vicki,

The above highlighted phrase triggered a memory of something that happened at our local banking institution a few months back. We received a notice in the mail that a theft incident had occured. Some backup tapes had been stolen from an external courier. This was personal information of clients. We were told that it was unlikely this info could be accessed, but should watch our account activity anyway to be sure. They have enhanced their security to monitor for potential fraud on credit cards and certain other transactions.

As you can imagine, it left us feeling somewhat vulnerable...

Haven't heard of anything myself.....although the report of China's tampering with the Pents computers gave me pause enough to wonder if maybe they had their fingers into other things as well......

Just as I thought. Everything is going on as it always has. All is well.

There is a principle in the following passage that I think applies to society in general these days ....

                          Isaiah 30:
                          8
*¶Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 *That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
10 *Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11 *Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
12 *Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
13 *Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
14 *And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
15 *For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

Both of my sons -- workers at Starbucks -- were unable to get usual tips today due to the inability of Startbucks to access their accounts at their Wells Fargo banks. They promised that they would have the tips available soon.

Wells Fargo is in deep trouble.

It could also be Starbucks and not Wells Fargo. Is it a company store or a franchisee?

It could also be the franchisee if that applies.

CNNMoney says the Fed is urging lenders to give mortgage holders additional time and options.

The U.S. economy has been virtually ignored by this administration for nearly 7 years. What I predicted in early 2000 after the reappointment of Greenspan is coming true, except that the stock market numbers are way higher than I ever dreamt at the time. (though there were predictions at that time that it would exceed 14,000 ... even 20,000).
