Spanish EU Presidency - Spain believes it is “vital” for Palestinians and Israelis to resume negotiations

After meeting with the US special envoy to the area, George Mitchell, and with the "Paris Group", on 12 January in Brussels, Moratinos stated that there is a "general mobilisation" of the international community towards relaunching the peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.

“It is time for commitment, and that's what the European Union is going to do, working together with the parties, with the Palestinians, with the Arab world, with the Israelis, so that we can jointly reset the clock of peace”.

With this in mind, Mitchell and Moratinos will strengthen the “coordination and complementarity of US and European diplomacy”, stressed the Spanish minister.

Moratinos also took part in a meeting of the so-called "Paris Group", which brings together the main donors to the Palestinian people and monitors the Oslo Peace Accords of 1993 between Israel and Palestine, as well as giving technical and economic support towards the creation of a Palestinian State.

Wow: are folks aware that the Doomsday clock is about to be reset tomorrow!!

Daniel 9:27 someone is coming to confirm a covenant with many for a week (7 years). He is coming from the people who destroyed the temple vs 26 i.e. the Old Roman Empire translated into the presently formed/forming Mediterranean Union) and will strengthen/confirm a covenant with many.

Will it come out of what is presently happening, possibly in months, weeks or even days ahead!....are we watching it happen before out eyes? I for one, think so!

Jordanian ambassador named Mediterranean Union chief

(BRUSSELS) - Representatives from EU and Mediterranean basin nations on Tuesday backed Jordan's Ahmad Massaadeh to be new head of the Mediterranean Union project, which had stalled amid infighting.

"When his name was proposed, everyone applauded," a diplomat involved in a meeting in Brussels on the nomination told AFP. The move has to be officially endorsed by foreign ministers in two to three weeks.

"There's unlikely to be any problem," another official said.

Massaadeh, the new secretary general of the Union for the Mediterranean (UPM), will be based in Barcelona and have Israeli, Palestinian, Turkish and Arab League deputies.
